Looks delicious! I love shrimp. I got some I think I'll be breading and frying with some fish tomorrow. Cheers!

Full review in New Beer Weekend #110. Long story short, this is a solid tart acidic sour cherry beer, would prefer a 6-8 oz version for my stomach, but enjoying the second half none the less with my mouth and heart.

Still trying to process the loss of Joey DeFrancesco, up there personally for me like the loss of John Henry Bonham (and my favorite band), and Jerry Garcia (my favorite Jam Band). The loss to the future of Hammond B-3 led jazz is immeasurable.

Well, draft order determined (not quite) for my fantasy draft. For example, the person awarded the 1st pick can decline and choose whatever spot they want & so forth. It's a pain in the a$$ when people don't text back. Haha! I think another Stone IPA is in order. Peace...

Busy day so far! Planning for two weddings and purchasing beer for a barbeque tonight and for the guys hanging out during the bridal shower tomorrow. We also visited Bennett Place, the site of Joseph Johnston's surrender of the Confederate army to Sherman in April 1865. We're now at Der Nachbar in Durham and I'm drinking Hop Beard IPA from Fonta Flora Brewery. Cheers!

[IMG] Tonight’s Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Crooked Stave Von Pils (5.0%):
A Zwickel from Colorado with flavors of lemon citrus, lemonflower, pale malts with a soft smooth yeasty body.
    versus
    2) Urban Chesnut Zwickel (5.2%): A Zwickel from Missouri with flavors of earthy and buttery bread malt. A full body and a malty, bready finish.
    versus
    3) Summit Twin Pils (5.1%): A Zwickel from Minnesota that has flavors of dry grains, lemon wheat, faint honey. A full-body and dry, grainy finish. (mismatched all 3 blind)

    4) BlackStack DDH City Pages (7.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesoata with DDH Mosaic and Strata for flavors of forest berry, tropical blueberry, some light herbal and vinous notes. Dry, clean, and soft.
    versus
    5) Phase 3 DDH Pearlescent Tides (7.7% canned 7/19/22): A NEIPA from Illinois with DDH Mosaic and Sabro for flavors of forest berry, tropical and sweet pineapple. Leans sweet on the finish.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    3) Summit Twin Pils
: Not surprised here. Probably the best one I've had from my favorite beer style, so quite possibly my favorite beer? Found it before the rebranding, back when it was named Keller Pils. Tons of dry grains, hints of lemon wheat, with a full-body, yet clean and dry mouthfeel. Absolutely excellent.

    4) BlackStack DDH City Pages: By a hair. These were extremely similar DDH Mosaics. One with Nelson and one with Sabro. The Nelson wins. Some light herbal and white wine vinous notes to pick the Mosaic off the forest floor here. Hard to balance the dank, resinous Mosaic with a clean and lighter body. The Mosaic and Nelson are a great combination.

I stopped over at Equal Parts Brewing today. They make some excellent lagers, but I don't get over to this part of town often. Glad I did this afternoon.

    First up, the wonderful Laggerbier.

Then Neo-Noir, Munich Dunkel Lager. Reviewed over at the NBW thread. This is just fantastic, and one of the better American made examples of the style I have had in a long time.

Also reviewed a few IPA's from other breweries in town I had yesterday. Been brewing hopping the last few days ha.

I had the Kristall weissbier yesterday for the first time. It's tasty. Reminded me of a helles with wheat and weissbier yeast tones.

Anything over Sabro should win every time. Good lawwwd, I am not a fan of that hop. If it disappeared forever, I would not shed a tear.

Happy Saturday! Haven’t posted on WBAYDN in a couple weeks (I think) but happy to be back. Drank down my entire beer fridge and my meager cellar beers, which I haven’t done in quite a while, and trying to get more beer for my buck this summer. So once it was empty, I bought twelve packs of PBR and Fiddlehead IPA. So right now I’m drinking a delicious Fiddlehead IPA and reading on the patio. Cheers!

New Oberpfaltz Octoberfest. Two days fresh. Bright and vibrant. Always look forward to their release of this each year. This one never lasts long on the shelves around here. An excellent Festbier.
