Fall Beer Sightings (2022)

Dude. It's Friday night -- 20 minutes in the freezer, you're good to go!

 

Spaten Oktoberfest and Weihenstephaner Festbier showed up. Best by May 25th 2023 for the Festbier. Taste is fantastic.

 

That beer looks like liquid gold I can’t wait to go shopping again and get mine.

Their Helles also showed up but it will have to wait a tad bit.

 

All the way to Wyoming, and I can't find my favorite all-time Oktoberest beer (maybe my all-time favorite beer) within 100 miles of me. Something ain't right.

 

Hey, I didn't check a bottle for the date. Could be old stock, if that's any consolation.

 

I'm about at the point that I'd take anything right now.

Okay... maybe not anything.

 

Finally Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen has arrived! Both my local distributor and local Wegman's had 6 packs on the shelf. Of course I picked up some. No Paulaner Oktoberfestbier yet, however.

Founder's Oktoberfest (not the Ultimate) finally hit the shelves as well. It looked like it was selling fast, so I jumped on that bandwagon.

Sam Adam's Festbier was spied, but only in that Sweater Weather 12 pack. That's a pass.

Unfortunately, Ayinger was delayed and won't be in until next week, or so I was told.
At least it will be in time for The Rings of Power, even if it wasn't for House of the Dragon. I hope.

I came across Jack's Abby Copper Legend and was surprised, as they have been pulled back considerably in my area. $8.99 for four 16 oz cans that were canned just a few weeks ago? Yes please!

 

We've got cases and cases of Spaten: all with a best-by date of September....2022

 

Eh, I could probably live with that.

 

You're more forgiving than I am. But we're spoiled here in that it's available year-round. I'm just biding my time for this old stock to clear through.

Wonder what the hell is going on in the Midwest?

My brother did some reconnaissance in Wisconsin for me yesterday and he saw no Spaten Okto there either.

 

Today I bought a six of Tröegs Oktoberfest based on suggestion by Advocate @FatBoyGotSwagger. I don’t recall seeing it for sale here before this year.

 

Like to see their beers come further west.

Then again, I see such a glut if brands on shelves, they could spread too thin.

 

It is new this year, it was in the mixed pack last year as a special beer but it has a new label; description is the same though.

I really enjoyed it, bought a 12 pack myself.
