No breweries in Eastlake, but you’re super close to Lad & Lass and Big Time in the U District.

Big Time has Geeks Who Drink Trivia. Not sure what day, though.

I think I'm late for your trip, but I've noticed a few people ask about food near Pike Place and the recommendations they get are mostly in like CapHill. CapHill definitely has it beat, but there's plenty of great food around the market, especially for lunch, if you can deal with the crowds. Given that most people who visit Seattle will find themselves around there at some point, I wanted to give a few suggestions:
    • Oriental Mart (Filipino)
    • Pasta Casalinga
    • Market Grill (fried fish/sandwiches)
    • Jack's Fish Spot (similar)
    • Uli's (sausage)
    • Pike Place Chowder (lines are often insane though)
    • Piroshky Piroshky (small pastries; more snacks than meals)
    • Beecher's (again, lines)
    • Le Panier (bakery)
    • Post Alley Pizza (a few blocks down the alley)
The above are mostly sort of takeout options (although market seating is available), and most are not open for dinner I believe. I think only Uli's serves beer.

There are a few more sit-down places around too, some of which I've heard good things about, although I've never been myself:
    • Matt's in the Market
    • The Pink Door
    • Cafe Campagne
    • Sushi Kashiba ($$$$)

Your never too late. Flying out tomorrow. Fingers crossed we’ll be somewhere in and around the green lake area late afternoon. Thx for the recs. Matt’s…house sounds interesting.

Also, the Pike Brewing restaurant seems touristy, but I've liked the food the handful of times I've eaten there. And their beer is still good.

The wife & I just barely made it to SEA this afternoon. We got lucky and got the last 2 seats on our plane. Then on the light train from the airport to Roosevelt station was delayed for 30 minutes due to some guy trying to commit suicide by laying on the tracks. So pretty beat I ended up at Triple R brewery, which has mostly guest beers on tap. TripR is a cool little place tucked away in a alley. Only a 3 minute walk from our condo for the weekend. And Whole Foods is around the corner. Grabbed a 4pk of Fort George 3 Way ipa to go. It don’t look like I’ll see any FH IPA’s on this trip. I’ll have to plan an overnight trip back in the end of September or October. I dig the price for draft and cans over here. I can see why the daughter lives up here. Pike’s & Cloudburst tomorrow.

Anyone know if outside cans are allowed at Cloudburst Western? I brought some collab Cosmic Lust cans that were brewed at Green Cheek last week. Thought I’d shared to compare the two.

Is there still love for Fremont? I don’t see them mentioned here much. Although we get plenty of cans & bottles down in OC/LA area they are not in my monthly rotation. Probably in my quarterly rotation. I think their beers (IPA’s) are good for the price. Plus it’s nice to have a beer from Seattle to mix with all my CA cans once and awhile. I’m heading to Fremont for the first time tomorrow. I’ve had most of their IPA’s so I’m going in hoping for some one offs or special brews.
Todays run included Pike’s Brewing, Old Stove & Cloudburst. In that order. Tons of people. Great weather. Chinatown sucked. Had a blast. Remind myself to bring Depends next time.

They just released a BA beer exclusive to the taproom and a Portland store.

My wife and I still love Fremont. We had some terrific beers there on our last visit a few weeks ago.

You’re totally in my neighborhood. I run by Triple R most mornings and have never been in there. Make sure you walk over to Latona Pub.

People cooled off on Fremont after one of the owners got elected to the Seattle city council. Any other part of the country she’d be a solid blue liberal but out here people see her as the evil business interest lover of the police. I dunno. I voted for her.

When did that happen? I don't follow Seattle politics closely, but this is still the first I heard of this.

Fremont was a hoot. Nice atmosphere. Bought two 11” pizza from Fiasco for lunch at Fremont. Don’t bother with Fiasco’s pizza. We didn’t think it was worth $50 with tip. Had the Kush, Head Full, and Disco. Before I could smell Kush the aroma of skunk weed hit me. I thought I was high from the smell. So fresh and delicious. No cans to go. So ended up with Disco to bring back home. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Disco Wolf in OC/LA. Latina was closed so I headed back to Triple R. Nice little hole in the alley. I need to come back during fresh hop season.

Sarah Nelson was elected last fall. It’s a sentiment I see often on online beer groups and from local people I know.

How active is she in the brewery? Just an ownership stake, or in on the day-to-day? One of Bellingham's city counsel members owns a bar/music venue and there doesn't seem to much potential conflict.

Agreed. I'm a big fan of their stuff, particularly their BA beers. I was surprised to hear that local customers had cooled off on their beer, but then I'm not very conversant with the Seattle political scene.

The wife and I try to stop by the Urban Beer Garden any time we're in town, which isn't nearly as often as I would wish. The times I've stopped by however, it's always been quite crowded and busy. Waits to get a table have been common.

Hey guys. Currently en route to Seattle for a few days!

All this info has been super helpful so thanks for all the recs and previous responses.

Couple additional questions would greatly benefit from your expertise!

Staying downtown centrally - near Pike Place Market. What are the best bottle shops I can get to (preferably where I can get singles / mix and match) and also best lunch spots? Thinking counter service sandwiches, tacos etc. something fairly easy and not too heavy.

Also any recommendations where they will be showing premier league soccer matches where I can grab some lunch? Food / beer doesn’t have to be amazing but obviously helps if it is!

    Cheers

She's texwild's wife so is one of the founders and was heavily involved in day to day. I think she took a step back during her campaign and (and why I think tex no longer posts here) now that she's on the city council. I personally don't have problem with it, but I've been told by multiple people that they no longer drink their beer, people have referred to them as the enemy, etc. I'm sure it's also just that they're no longer the new shiny brewery and people have moved on to other things. I dunno. I go to the UBG maybe once a month with my daughter and I'll be all over their fresh hops like normal. I have nothing against Fremont like others do now, I just don't find myself over there much anymore.

DeLaurentis, Vine Street Market and Teku Tavern are your best bets for bottles/cans to go. Cone and Steiner in Pioneer Square has a pretty solid little selection of singles and cheap happy hour.

Kells should have EPL games on downtown, and Flat Stick in Pioneer Square might? Flat Stick also does tacos if I remember right.

If you really want to venture into the city, the best soccer bar in Seattle is The Alantic Crossing in my neighborhood. Just around the corner from the Roosevelt Light Rail Station, too. ABC/ESPN has had camera crews there for World Cup matches in the past.
