3 Floyds Brewing (2022)

That price is weird. You sure it was the new batch? Yeah, I know, it should sound insane for the last batch to have sat around that long, but I wouldn't put it past them, considering I just bought a 4 pack of Dovetail Helles that I was really looking forward to, which turned out to be over a year old. It would have never occurred to me to look at the bottom of that sort of beer at a store with that kind of selection, especially since it was their only Dovetail 4-pack left, and they're pretty well regarded, but now I'm more paranoid than ever.

But yeah, it's a giant grocery store, where the beer and liquor are in the exact opposite direction from the beverage center all the way across the store. In more ways than one, as @Luscious_Malfoy noticed, it was an interesting experience for me in Kenosha.

 

It's Woodmans. They are generally about 15% less than Binnys. It is cash/ debit only. Deep Woods hits at times, too. Below Rev's pricing by about 10%.

Also picked High Speed Steel and CheerTeam (what I initially went in for). $51 out the door.

Man I miss Woodmans! It’s the best excuse to go grocery shopping. However, an easy way to end up buying way too much beer.

Not breaking any news here, but wow Crushing Mass is fantastic! I can’t believe this is 15% ABV. It’s like drinking a cold brew ice coffee with a hint of bourbon.

 

They definitely did a good job with it. I was blown away last year. Haven't had one this year, yet. They're in the fridge calling my name. Been waiting for some cooler weather. Really want a sub-60 night to sit around a fire and have a few BA beers. Going camping in a couple weeks, so that might be when I crack one of this year's.

 

Will CM make it to DLD or will the Labor Day weekend beer demands wipe out the kiosk supply?

 

All I can say is that if it is still there, I’ll be picking up more.

 

High Speed Steel hit my market.. good stuff and this is officially my 200th beer by 3 Floyds on BA.. I gave up on checking in beers on here long ago but keep up with FFF just because I had so many

This beer reminds me of that run of stubby 500ml bottles like Kindergottenkoenig and Savage Flow. Really good

 

i need to revisit. the first bottle i cracked or my 6pack on Friday wasn’t doing it for me. however, i am a huge lager fan and typically like what floyds does with that style.

 

But what if you die tonight?

Take an ice bath and get cold so you can drink stout.

 

Lol. Before I even saw this, I actually went and got a 2nd 4pack from Binny's, and then cracked a cold one I had in the fridge when I got home. Such a good fockin beer.

The colder, the better with this one. My first one was cold, but the next couple were ice cold and delicious

 

maybe that was part of the problem. i had picked them up same day, room temp..had only been in the fridge for a couple hours

 

Did anyone with self control keep one from the last batch of CM around and if so how is it holding up with a year on it?

 

Funny store about that. I always try to keep one for storing to see how it develops after 6 months to a year, or where I can do a side-by-side. Late winter my brother was over and we were hanging out drinking some whiskey and having a cigar in my garage after we got done ice fishing or something. Can't remember exactly if that's what we were doing, or not... if I'm being honest. We had tied one on pretty good by then...

So I ran in the house to piss, and when I came out, my brother is like "grab a couple glasses". And I'm like.... huh? What did you do? Of course... he had grabbed my last CM from last year, and cracked it open, before looking at the label. He just figured it was some kind of 3F IPA or whatever, and when he took a sip, he realized it was a heavy ass BA stout. Lol. So we drank my last 2021 CM that night... rather than being able to do a side-by-side this year.
