No, but I’m looking into the past right now.

    Enjoy

I'm still completely dying to know why Willettized wasn't released at all. I mean, what happened? Why take an entire year off after claiming it was coming until the last minute? Barrel aging takes time. Has anyone heard any scuttlebutt?

Websites just said Fall 2022 since they had already pushed it 2 times earlier this year. I don't understand how so many other breweries are relasing BA shit with 0 problems and Lagunitas blames Covid .

Personally, I've been blaming everything on covid for the last few years. I seriously doubt Lagunitas is any more responsible or accountable than me

I heard some of the barrels actually got infected with covid.

Typical. Bourbon barrels are notoriously anti-vax. The alcohol can't do all the work...

I have no facts to back this up, but…

I suspect Omicron did play a role for them - a rather significant one for 2-3 months. I think longer than they expected, and I think generally “Covid issues” were likely a problem before that.

I think the first delay was “yea, ok, fine, we’ll get it out in a couple months. This wave will be over soon.” Then Omicron was 2 months of hell, and they said, “fuuuuuuck, we can’t get it out till April now…wrong season. Let’s just release it in autumn.”

That means one of 2 things to me. (1) This beer is being/will be aged longer in barrels (and would make me try it again for first time since 2017), ooooor it’s already been dumped and bottled and it’ll just be waiting.

More likely the latter, but we can hope for the former.

Remember when they used to release special brews at least 4-5 times a year? We didn't been get Waldos this year. Speaking of breweries that got bought up and destroyed, I just saw Ballast Point Victory at Sea, but in 4 16oz pack for 16.99.

I used to buy a case of VAS bottles each year, lasted all year. Not a beer I want in 16oz bottles. I do remember they were in bombers years ago.

BP is owned by a new owner but I have not had their beer since it was bought a few years back. I do want to try the Barmy apricot old ale, can’t say I have seen any BP on shelves recently.

    Enjoy

They did do Waldos this year. Not sure how widely distributed it was. It definitely lingered on the shelves around here, but my market doesn't seem to have a taste for the strong ipas and I've seen a number of double/triple ipas linger on the shelves

There's both spring 2022 waldos and fall 2021 contents under fresher on shelves in PA.

If you see Three Floyds Crushing Mass, give it a try. Very good 15% barrel aged coffee stout aged in Willet barrels. A nice consolation if Lagunitas drops the ball.

Ive had it before and think it's great, althought i could never consider it an alternative to Willettized for a few reasons.

Fair. The main difference is that I can buy one today and I have no idea of when I can buy the other. Such is my confidence level in Lagunitas. I’ll be thrilled if/when I see Willetized again.
