So I just stopped by my local liquor store today and they had six Supermassive Cafe Deth 4-packs sitting there for $45/4pack. Kind of caught me off guard. How is this beer holding up since the release? Anyone had a can recently?

I think it's been about 3 months since my last can, still great. The coffee has obviously faded, but there's still a healthy amount of it there. That beer base is still just as good as it ever was.

There's still 2021 around, so I'd say yes.

That's crazy because that's a world class BA beer.

2022 Ryeway won't even hit until November, just before Thanksgiving.

Ah yeah. It had been on the shelf in ohio about a month ago so I figured it was 2022. I bought two and loved it more than I remembered so went back for more but was all gone. Just looked at my second can and youre right, its December 2021. Definitely way better than any other iteration I have had of it in prior years.

There must have been more hype to Ryeway with the last batch (same with SJ). Both sat on shelves at my Binny’s so long the previous year. This year they both sold out in a couple weeks. That or they just got less last year because of it. Ryeway is still available to go at the brewery so I can’t complain (though SJ sold out a while ago).

As mentioned previously, I had a too kind friend in Chicago proxy for me, pack some Coconut Deth in her suitcase and bring it down to us in Bonaire (southern Caribbean) where we're currently living. After bashing a coconut from our yard against a rock for far too long I managed to make my dream a reality.
Eating the beer soaked coconut afterwards was also real tasty.

Brilliant. This guy looks like a genius, but I suspect he will fall flat when he posts his next photo when Deth by Currant is released.

I only promise to do ones that I can find in my backyard; folks in other climates are going to have to manage currants. If it's Deth by Papaya, Mango, Dragonfruit, Soursop or Noni I'll make a proper drinking vessel. That is assuming I can harvest them before the parrots eat them, which is tough.

You can take up the mantle and hollow out enough currants to put the Deth by Currants in.

I just opened a can now. I love coffee stouts and I don’t normally endorse aging coffee stouts but here we are…. For me Supermassive is just too coffee forward fresh, but I’ve found it very enjoyable with some age. I honestly think it’s drinking great right now… the coffee has faded a bit but the beer is much more balanced and I feel the coffee is more integrated. There is still nice roasty coffee flavors but the stout and barrel are present (fresh I think it’s a coffee bomb). One guys opinion but enjoying it! Hope this helps.
