No more burgers at Half Acre . I know something was up when they unexpectedly closed the kitchen for two weeks. Not sure if it's supply issues or staffing or both.

Also, I miss The Big North

They are teasing Benthic (or at the very least, barrel aged beers) on Instagram...info "very soon".

Those appear to be 16oz cans possibly so might not be Benthic. HA had a recent COLA approval for 'Before Land Shook', a BA stout with vanilla bean. It was for a keg label, however, so could be coincidental and completely unrelated to this teaser.

After making a lot of purchases in 2021, I am back to “maybe I should try to just drink down my cellar during 2022 stout season instead of buying more”. …maybe. Benthic has become such a favorite for me. That said, I really hope they keep to the 12oz cans. In 16oz, I have to be more conscientious about when I open it, since I can’t cork it like a bottle. Here’s to hoping it is not for Benthic if in 16oz cans (although that would likely make my decision this Autumn much easier).

Didn't it say "stout" which Orin is not?

Good catch....Obsidian Throne?! God I hope so.

    Maybe a Catch Hell variant?

Catch Hell was in 16 oz cans.

And start over again in 2025. Thanks HA. Love ya. I've (beer) advocated for a regular rotation like this before.

Also, Obsidian Throne was fantastic. So that would be acceptable too.

What does the label say? Vanilla, Marshmallow and Sea Salt?

Yes. An interesting choice. I'm reading this as a bourbon soaked chocolate and sea-salt brownie...tasting stout.

Stouts are so chocolaty naturally (especially theirs). The vanilla and marshmallow could really balance that out and give it some nice play. The sea salt would compliment it well if it was a brownie...not sure about in a stout. Guess nothing else to do but trust them.

Hey now, that HA teaser last week was showing a stack of 16 oz silver cans. Not 12 oz black cans. I'm calling them out on this deceptive teaser-ing.

The more I think about this (all day today), the happier I am with HA. First, props for them for enforcing limits, but also props to them for being willing to do all these small releases. Not many breweries now adays will have a release where people are spending only $25 or $40. That's pretty great. Not sure what the overhead costs are on each one of these, but I'm pretty happy they've found a way to make it work, and to me that is a service to the beer community. Reasonable prices, reasonable allotment, and lots of opportunities for people to get a win. Even a random draw type thing for the line. Props.

I liked the sea salt in the Hop Butcher stout that they made

I wish sea salt was used more often on big stouts, but advertised less. We don’t to know it’s there, or be looking for the sea salt. It’s just a way to create some balance to sweetness. It’s nothing new
