It must have been Uberkind. I can't justify paying that price for a beer I might not even like. Wish Jester King came in 12oz bottles.

Not possible right now, since they hand bottle everything.

It's priced right for a sour. It's also mind blowingly awesome.

FYI, South Houston is a city that is a good deal north of Bay Area Specs. The city in question is Webster or Clear Lake, which covers anything from FM 2351 off 45 all the way south to FM 518.

I'm sure you have all been dying to know my thoughts on the buddahs brew... So here you go.

Jeff, this has to be a different blend of yeast, it does not have the harsh chemical finish that all the other sours have it is there, but in a much smaller amount. It has a crisp smoother finish. Much better. Please use this sour yeast cocktail for your sours.

While I don't completely agree with your assessment of their other sours (but I think I understand it and agree in part), I agree completely about this beer. It's just very smooth and drinkable...it kept me coming back to my glass for more. Was very happy to hear it and other variations of it will come out in the future. Bonnie was much the same (although I wish it had been just a lil more tart).

Apparently Seth should change his name to Pavlov because my mouth is salivating and I'm going to pop a Buddhas myself

I had Beer Geek Rodeo, along with Weasel and Whiskey, a little under a month ago. BGR has become super smooth with a nice bite. The people I was drinking with all agreed the pepper bite/spice was slowly dying off. So if you want that heat drink now. I'm saving a bottle of BGR to try again about this time next year.

    Buddah's Brew is soooo good.

They used English yeast for that one for some reason or other.

I saw a few a day or two ago at the Spec's on 290 & Jones Road. I picked one up myself.

I don't know if this can be attributed to the beer, but the Lubbock area has some of the worst water I have ever tasted. Not surprisingly, the locals think it's just fine.

It definitely is, which made me a little sad. Had a bottle in Sep. and it had a lot less of a bite than when fresh. Going to break out my last bottle for Xmas/New Year's.

I think the next Buddha's release is going to go a lot quicker because I've talked to a ton of people that bought 1 bottle because they were unsure about it and they absolutely loved it. It was only a 100 case release, iirc.

Blueberry Kombucha on the next one FTW, Jeff.

I found a bottle at CM Lamar stuck in with some Wytchmaker 2 days ago, but i think that was a lark... I believe CM Westgate was out as of last week.

I never saw it at Spec's. Bottle shops in South Austin are out.

If I had to guess, I'd say your best luck would be at Rosedale Market.
