I know the THICCNESS is a major component of what people like about SP stouts, but I wonder what everyone thinks about the viscosity potentially muting flavors, and whether or not any added lactose for mouthfeel is detrimental to the development or expression of complex nuance.

Parfait 4 is right up there with some of the best barrel aged stouts I’ve had this year. I was blown away. I like coconut, but not coconut vibes level of coconut. This beer blended it well with the hazelnut while still showcasing the other adjuncts.

So I guess I'll be flying out for birthday/Zwanze. Anybody want to share some bottles?

I’m shocked that they are still available, although if this published list is all they will actually be pouring, it’s a lot fewer SP stouts than normal for Zwanze right?

They straight up said it was going to be focused on mainly sours this year

that’s what the blog said the intention was this year - to focus more on Cantillon / lambic.

i can definitely see them lasting longer IP and online due to everyone being obsessed with stouts. works well for the lambic enthusiasts, which we all know are out there!

if you’re a local, you’re honestly better off just hitting the brewery tasting room and then hitting the cellar the following week for the leftovers.

An afternoon imbibing on a sour and lambic dominated tap list will most definitely call for a thoughtful amount of tums

Happy to be able to make it to another Zwanze. Glad for the focus on lambic / sours to make for a smaller event while still having the option to get BBT in the brewery plus all the other brewery birthdays shenanigans

Excited to attend my first one of these. Curious to hear how a "smaller" festival will compare to past years.

I’m guessing it’s roughly the same size as 2021 since that was also outside only but I wouldn’t mind it being slightly smaller

For TWCP in 375s. I’m all for more stouts in 375s. Still wish next round of CSV would be in 12oz cans tho.

I mean, I'd probably buy it. Not much different than spending $75 on 3 bombers

no, i totally would too. it would probably be singles, or 4pks 12oz cans if anything. 16oz cans or even 375s would also be acceptable. just a way to spread it out over more sessions.

edit: if the parfait series can be canned then why not CSV?
