Opened another Crushing Mass tonight and wow it is crazy good.

 

I had Crushing Mass on draft at the Beer Temple recently.

It smelled and tasted almost EXACTLY like the original draft-only batch of Supermassive Cafe Deth that was at one of the Deep Woods parties a few years ago. Just an OVERWHELMING amount of coffee notes, especially in the nose.

The packaged versions of Supermassive never had that same insane level of coffee, and I can't speak to the packaged versions of Crushed, but on draft these two are by far the most coffee-forward beers I've ever had.

 

Yes! I promised myself I would make it last, then 6 bottles in gone in 12 days.

Got damn, and I thought I was bad for even THINKING about opening my second bottle.

 

Partially because my wife doesn't like barrel-aged stouts and partially because my kids are both in travel sports, I often end up capping something and saving it for the next night. Tonight I had half a bottle of Crushing Mass and half a can of Rev Coconut Deth that I mixed up...for science. If you find yourself with the same issue, fear not. The coconut is somewhat overpowered, but it's still great.
