Interesting, this was my lowest rated Oktoberfest (pale or amber) this year. And I've had dozens so far this year.

I found both decent, preferred their take on the pale style over the amber. The amber has a beautiful color to it though.

They also list the pours as half liters, but the glasses are clearly marked as "0.4L".

Grab a draft of it (I think it's on tap at both Five Horses and Elm Street).

It was my second favorite pale Oktoberfest on draft behind Andechs. And I've had Paulaner Oktoberfestbier, Hofbrau's, and Weihenstephan's.

It's unacceptable when Applebee's or some dive bar or something says they're selling a pint of Miller Lite and they actually serve a 14 ounce shaker. It's equally unacceptable - perhaps moreso - for Trillium to do it, especially given their prices.

I'm not going about to call up the Attorney General's office or anything, but that's extremely poor form from a brewery with their reputation.

Either they aren't paying attention to the details - which isn't good... or they are paying close attention to the details - which also isn't good.

Wow I had MS version at my local on draft & thought it was terrible. To each their own.

Did manage to get a 4 pack of BBC’s Ofest & thought it was good, just as I remembered.

Yeah, it's bizarre that in America, that draft beer is only consumer product that I can think of that has such poor enforcement of Weights and Measures. I appreciate it when breweries use oversized glasses with a fill line.

My personal favorite American Marzen-- Schilling Konstantin -- Definitely kicks the hell out of the BBC Life On Marzen that I had.

Had MS's Octoberfest last weekend and thought it was fine. I enjoyed it enough.

I can't find anything saying that draft beer glasses are controlled under the state's Division of Standards, but you could make a pretty good argument that the practice isn't just sloppy, it's illegal. According to 204 CMR 2.00: Regulations of the Alcoholic Beverages Commission, section 2.02: "Wherever a price list is posted all sales of
alcoholic beverages shall be made at the prices stated on the current posted price list." So if the price list state's that it is 0.5l, you better get 0.5l for your money.

Forest & Main (Ambler, PA) is serving their Festbier via side pull faucet.

Have you ever gotten a large ice latte at either Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts? I swear if you removed the ice, the liquid latte would barely fill a small cup:angry:!!!

No, I'm not a coffee drinker. But do those places list a # of ounces on their menus, or just "small" "medium" "large" etc.? With beer, a "Pint" actually has the definition of 16 oz. (at least in the US).

Lu Lus had this on tap recently if you can make it out that way (I’d check online first).

If anyone on this thread heads to Fort Point double check the menu. The mug definitely had a 0.4L pour line. Not entirely sure about the menu.

I love LuLu's, unfortunately (for this exact scenario, I love it otherwise) I moved out to the Berkshires a couple of years ago now, so it'd be a bit of a hike.

I appreciate you letting me know though!

Doesn't pulling this kind of thing actually fit perfectly with their reputation?

That aside, another vote here for this year's Gansett's Fest, though I fall on the caramel Marzen side of the fence. Not overly heavy, plenty of availability, great price.

Yep, my wife told me that same thing...Although, her suggestion was a bit stiffer then yours..."order less ice, dumbass, duh"!:stuck_out_tongue:

I do that all the time, only thing is, I feel like they don't really add less ice half the time.

Back in the day when I consumed a lot more caffeine I would just ask for no ice and add it myself at home. They definitely fill it more then, otherwise it just looks awkward.

Had a can of Rustle from TH last night. Was a solid, down-the-middle-of-the-fairway festbier. Wondering how others who’ve had it compare it to some of the recent mentions (Trillium, Mighty Squirrel).

And FTR, I’m pretty sure they fit a full pint into the can.

Went to Long Live Beerworks after work last night with my client, had their Oktoberfestside. I didn’t review or take ot a picture, but the foeder aging gave it a nice touch. I’ll definitely be getting more
