Schilling definitely knocked it out of the park with their marzen.

I also enjoyed Lamplighter's marzen this year as well. It was definitely on the heavier side but the four pack disappeared fast enough that I went and bought another.

I recently had TH's marzen on side pour and I'm slightly ashamed to say it's been my fav marzen this year so far by a long shot... ashamed only because we're not supposed to say a NEIPA factory had the best lager, right?

Bought some cans of Rustle that I'll dive into this weekend.

On a related note Tired Hands (aka NEIPA factory) produces a number of high quality lagers. Good brewers/breweries should be able to produce high quality beers of various types.

    Cheers!

I'm basically mainlining the Ramstein marzen style o'fest. Stuff is right up my alley.

Which one? Whisper? Have had Brisk and Rustle before and liked them. Going this weekend and planning to grab one of these.

I know this beer was mentioned a couple times here so for anyone who didn’t see, Mighty Squirrels took gold in the marzen category at GABF.

Haha I'm quite amused by this. I can't say I thought it was GABF gold good, but this is what I said in response to the MS dislike upthread.
    But yeah, funny.

Anyone been able to find the Hoffbrau mini kegs this season? Got a bunch last year but nobody seems to have them this year. In as much we’re into the 2nd week of October I’ve given up. Around 10 stores said they didn’t even get them this year.

Could be a distributor thing because they are at most stores down here in NJ, that I have been to at least.

Threw an Oktoberfest party this past weekend and was looking for them. Came up empty at various places (Wegmans, Kappys, Ball Square...etc.).

The season is still going strong!

Blackmoor added some Oktoberfest beers I haven't seen many other places:

    Rothaus Eiszapfle Märzen
    Allgäuer Buble Bier Festbier
    Traunstein Fürstentrunk Festbier

And this weekend there's the ONCE Oktoberfest at Boynton Yards in Somerville and the Wurst Fest at Brato.

    Prost!

I see Small Change Brewing is releasing their Oktoberfest beer this Thursday at their new location in Cambridge (inside the Artifact Cider venue in Central Square). They will also have their Dark Mild on cask.

    Also this Saturday...
    • "Skatoberfest" at Reading Town Common with Small Change and Wandering Soul Breweries
    • "The Pumpkin Patch" with Winter Hill Brewery at The Yard in Medford (100 Winchester St)

Enjoying the Notch Festbier on tap right now. This is really quality beer. First beer I’ve had from them.

It's Rathaus, not Rothaus (Eiszäpfle), or do they have big thumbs over at Untappd too.

Based on the pics, it looks like a typo -- but the beer doesn't look terribly different from the Black Forest Rothaus.

Gotta say I enjoyed the Gansett Oktoberfest much more than I expected to. Only $11 for a 6 pack makes it even better

I didn't want to get a 6-pack, especially since it was more expensive than any other brand, but couldn't pass on .5L single bottles. It's good but not as good as Paulaner.
