Like Clemenza said about Paulie: "Won't be seeing him no more". Came upon this by surprise today, and since the good Monks up in Mass have closed up shop, had to bite. Not sure why they went south, always enjoyed what I had from them. But their Quad, always hard to find, is/was top shelf. Will have to nurture the remaining 3 bottles, but this chilly SE Pa. evening demanded something dark and strong.

Didn't try the Barrel-aged except for Founder's. Millstream definitely nailed the Oktoberfest this year though!

One good Pliny deserves another. Isn't that what they say? Getting ready to watch Judge break the AL single-season HR record. Cheers!

Lone Pint Brewery -- Gentleman's Relish - Nitro(?)
    English style brown ale
    ABV: 6.2%; pouring temperature: 40.2 ℉; canning info: ??/27/22
Auxiliary vices: that same ol' Gurkha stogie I've been burning all afternoon deep within the hallowed walls of the 'Fortress of Solitude' plus a proper pour of A.H. Hirsch Reserve 16-Year for a special dog past and and sweet dog I met earlier this morning...

    look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Murky, opaque brown body topped with a thin, light khaki head, lasting and semi-creamy in texture. Faint, malty aroma; a hint of cocoa, lightly sweet in character. Excellent flavor; rich, malty sweetness; toffee and light cocoa; slight bitterness. Medium-heavy body; smooth and silky on the palate; excellent residual sugar presence coats the palate; sweet mouthfeel.

The looks and smell didn't bode well for the beer, but the taste and mouthfeel pulled this one through. The can states 'Nitro' on the label yet there is nothing on the can nor the brewery's web site about nitro used for this (the web site also posts a picture of the nitro can label but just lists the beer as 'Gentleman's Relish', so who knows about that aspect of this beer. Looks so-so, tastes great!

...Mrs. BeerGoot and I visited the local Humane Society to check out a dog name Rockit 2.0 (seriously!)...he is 5 1/2 years old, but the gist of the story is Mrs. BeerGoot isn't ready for a dog like Rockit...I understand...I'd still adopt him in a heartbeat...
