That beer sounds good mainly because what Bell’s does with BA stouts.

Thanks to @GuyFawkes post for making me look up icebox cake only to find I’ll probably be gaining 10 pounds from it in the near future.

I would imagine the graham flour was used solely for marketing efforts as the graham cracker component to the cake.

I too, have never heard of an "icebox cake" and I've lived in Chicago since I was born almost 38 years ago. That said, I'll likely be trying to find this beer to try, at least, as I've always liked Bell's BA.

should you buy this / regret having purchased this? Maybe!

16oz is a lot. Consumed in a HA teku at slightly below room temperature. I felt like I went on quite a journey with this beer:

1.) hey, this is great! Big, tropical coconut with a little chocolate (reminding me of Riverlands’ tropical stout), and then roasty coffee shouldering its way through to the front. Barrel presence was all mixed in but it definitely felt like a BA beer. Silky and thicc.

2.) why am I drinking coconut-flavored condensed milk?

3.) I’m still drinking this one can! I have come to terms that this isn’t beer, but a performance art piece involving body builders slathering on coconut-scented sunscreen while a person dressed as Krampus sprays everyone with BA stout from a neon green super soaker.

I strongly believe, without evidence, that this beer is likely very unhealthy. I’d love to see a nutrition label on this.

I enjoyed it sometimes and am also amazed I finished the can (over several hours). I suspect this will be a polarizing one. I have another can left - maybe we should set up a zoom and drink it live together?

I very much picture Quilentro as the Kurtz character from Heart of Darkness as he tries to control the beer, but the beer changes him as he slowly slips into madness.

I liked it, but at $12/ can it's a harder pill to swallow. It oddly enough reminded me of Catch Hell but without reaching the same pedigree of world class. Can't really say why but that's what my taste and brain were telling me. Didn't get a whole lot of barrel. A good beer that I had no issue finishing (nor will i the second can) but at the same time there's better when spending this tier of money.

What other BA beers are 75 cents per ounce that you would say are more favorable? Imo, this was up there with some HC BA stuff as far as punch you in the face adjuncts and had a similar BA presence vs adjuncts to Eunoia, if not quite as thick. Both of those are nearly double the per oz price, the latter requiring a membership for a few hundred dollars. Apples to oranges, but I also enjoyed this on a pastry level more than Coconut Deth, which was also more expensive even though Rev is seen as the gold standard for reasonable prices.

I still would like more barrel. I said I liked it. I'd grab a Rev for the money, but this was good and I would agree it matches great with a contender like Eunoia in the pastry adjunct category. Not upset I tried it and will enjoy the second can, but all these dollars for ounces add up was my point. That said, it's good. I certainly would not tell anyone to not try it. Still isn't world class and neither is Eunoia at this point. Both fail the "barrel" test for having been Barrel-aged. Both breweries are making better beer than what I make in my basement.
