This is my go-to when I don’t have anything “special” in the fridge. Thankfully it’s widely available now and satisfies any cravings for a stout. Never get tired of it

It's on my porch, lighting is always great there. Wanted the gold lettering to really pop.
What wasn't pretty was me carrying/ rolling that piece of tree trunk half a block to lift on there when someone cut a tree down the street, but it does look nice and that's why i went back for a second piece i have there as well. :joy:

From this past weekend. Found half a pallet at a local hyvee with 4 packs discounted to $5.99. Looks like a canned date of winter 2021. Turned out to be steal of the century! Chewy, silky, packed full of semi-sweet malty chocolate and balanced roast.

From last night. Expedition is the beer release I most look forward to every year. It's available, affordable, can be bought in large enough quantity to drink plenty now and store plenty for later, and is typically a world class non-BA RIS (my opinion).

This is the 2022, bottled 9/20. Maybe the freshest Expedition I've ever had. It's drinking really well fresh. Definitely will go through a couple 6 packs this winter. Big roasty and hops of front and smooth cocoa/raisin/roast finish. No bitterness and no over the top sweetness; perfect semi-sweet the whole way through. Great mouthfeel as always. 2022 is a good year.

Thank you to @bret27 for this one.
Parabola is one of my favorite BBA Imperial Stouts. This is the oldest vintage I have ever tried from them and it's all the glory i expected. Amazong barrel blend of dark chocolate, cocoa, cacao nibs, vanilla, caramel, espresso and a light sweet finish.

How many did you buy!? Never heard of this beer but if i saw any non adjuncted stout 4 Pack at that price I'd buy at least 4 of them.

Same here, sadly we don't see them here as often. Used to see them around a lot 3 years ago and now there's hardly any. all we seenis that 2 hearted crap

Absolutely worth a try. The regular BBA too. IMO, they like to be in a wide mouthed glass for about fifteen minutes to really start opening up. YMMV.

War Horse has been more miss than hit, IMO, so this is a very welcome development.

I’m not sure this qualifies as a stout in any regard other than name. Abomination Midnight Snack with cheese cake, vanilla bean, cacao nibs, and pumpkin spices. I wanted bizarro tonight. It’s actually well blended and harmonious. Good for the co 46 degrees on the back porch with doggo.

I agree with you. I emailed them that I don’t give them much money on their yellow beers, but BBA Turn and Burns get my attention, so they get my money. The vanilla last year was good, but a bit too much vanilla for me. The chocolate seems balanced better.

Reportedly, they also have a wine barrel aged stout Co-Pilot available on site only.

This is one tasty Imperial Stout. I gotta try habanero peppers in my home brewed stouts.

Did you get a spicey or not-so-spicey bottle? Every year is different. I've had it three times - one of those was on draft and in the bottle at the same time. The draft was noticeably more potent. (If you go back and look at the WB threads, people used to discuss this when it was an annually traded beer.)

Pretty spicy to my taste buds. I'm getting chili pepper & black pepper among others. I've had other versions but my memory is a bit foggy on those.
