Okay I’m stupid and totally forgot about that because I passed on getting any. Seems like Derivation with coffee and maple rules out a BA MV anytime soon though.

i didn’t know if you meant a 100% BA Shared (Vibes) 750mL… because i would agree that those days are done. BACSV 2017 was the only one i can think of where they didn’t blend like they would a BBT or a Derivation. to my knowledge that was the Vibes recipe aged in bourbon barrels and then conditioned on coffee. BA CSV 2020 went a different route where they actually tasted through their barrel stock and blended from there. both BA Ambientes have gone this route and BA CV was even blended with Elipses… recipe.

 

Isn't Vibes the Derivation #4 recipe so technically this is just a grey area?
I do not think there are really separations between the breweries other than Side Project being all oak aged while Shared is "simpler" beers but also some oak aged.

not sure about that… D4 reads as if it’s a blend of 2 recipes:

Blend of an Oatmeal Imperial Stout Aged 22 months in 11-year old Willett Barrels & a Munich Malt-based Imperial Stout Aged in 18 Months in Elijah Craig 12 year barrels. The blend was then aged on Madagascar Vanilla Beans.

i was thinking the vibes was a “Shared” thing. it’s also the only imperial stout recipe listed / described as a Russian imperial stout.

 

i have my doubts about that too as D3 was used in both BBT rye blends and was called “D3 recipe” (except he mentioned leaving out the rye malts that were used in Derivation b3)

hopefully its like last year with other killer beers. i actually havent gotten pn15 or single farm yet, might have to soon but was hoping they would be in a pack lol
