Thanks, everyone! We're so excited for this whole adventure. Heck, it hasn't even been a week and it already feels like a month, in the best possible way! :innocent:

Ha, I hadn't even thought of that one! We've been talking about milestones, etc, but I hadn't even thought of first laugh. I'm very excited.

Porter, our dog, has been so sweet, and so funny. When we came home, I introduced her to one of the little hats Juni was wearing in postpartum, so she'd have a little warning. Porter has always been a jumper, and a licker. She wants to be at face level so she can say hi, give you her kisses, and sniff around and see what you've been up to. Anyway, with the baby, she has been so gentle and calm. She sniffs around at her, wants to lay near her, but has not licked her even once. I sat her down when we came home and told her it is now her sacred duty to be Juniper's guardian and companion, and in exchange she will have a best friend for life, and I really think she's taken it to heart. Anytime the baby makes any sort of noise (and especially early on, when all teh various noises were new ones), Porter's ears perked up and she immediately got up and came to sit right there, and kind of looked at us like, "um... the baby needs something. Are y'all going to make sure she's taken care of? I've been given a task, but you won't let me feed her or anything, so I really need you guys to take care of that!" ha.

Anyway, I'm sure the first laugh will be another melty moment for all involved!

Well, the worst part seems to be that only one of us can really hold her at a time, so the other has to go without for long stretches!

True, but the best part is you get to hold her

That time frame will change soon enough. More like a month feels like a day.

My upstairs neighbor is currently looking at the floor going "What the hell?" as I guffaw on an almost industrial basis.

I don't think @Roguer has been following the thread much. He probably doesn't know the dates.

Not sure where I should post this. So back a few NBW BIFs ago, # 13 if I am remembering correctly. An LIF that was run by @JayORear and I somehow managed to win it.
He sent me a porch crushing hit that included this fine specimen:
amazing brown that was obviously aged in Rum barrels.
Not sure why but I had thought it was a stout, otherwise I would have opened it earlier. But no worries, this was amazing.
The appearance suffered a bit from my just rinsing out the snifter but it poured coffee brown with a short lived beige head.
The aroma was cinnamon and malts, which is odd as the cinnamon didn’t dominate in the flavor. Cardamon actually led the way but by no means shut out the other add-ins.
Cinnamon, lactose and vanilla all made their presence known and it’s all wrapped up in a very pleasant imperial brown ale.
Thanks Jay, this was really good.
