    Wisconsin is #5. We need to put in some work to get the championship belt back from North Dakota.

    I'm surprised that South Dakota could only muster fourth place. I drink well under the state average though.

    Do you think the avg# of visitors could have affected this. Most of the spots that are up there are known tourist venues.

    When the consumption per person ranges from 20 gallons up to almost 46 gallons there has to be something that isn't factored into these stats. It doesn't seem to me that just living in a sparsely populated state is a reason to drink a lot. (Maybe there should be a side-by-side correlation study to look at the population ranking factor.) Logic says that this type of stat for beer consumption shouldn't have a range like that.

    Not surprised about Pennsylvania because in actuality if twister tea lights were considered part of this we'd be number one haha.

    After having to make the move here to Delaware from my home in Florida ... I can see why DE ranked so high up compared to Florida. :grin::sunglasses:

    These sorts of stories are sometime hard to verify, a USA Today (man, those damn pop-up ads!) article from a few days ago, cites the generic looking Beer Info page https://beerinfo.com/beer-consumption-by-state-per-capita/ which in turn states "Source: The Beer Institute" (i.e., the US "Big Beer" association). Checking their annual Brewery Almanac, and it sure appears that the figures in article are from 2012.
    The BI's stats also note:

    I read on the internet that 73.6% of all statistics are made up. :astonished:

    Cheers!

    Guessing that CA, NY or TX drinks the most (total volume). Quick calculation show 1 billion gallons in CA alone.

    Obviously Utah in last with the Mormon population, but then the states with large populations of suburbs centered around extremely busy high/traffic cities score near the bottom as well (CT, NJ, MD, CA etc). If you are busy raising families out in the burbs and spending half your days stuck in traffic, that really cuts into beer consumption. Deleware is very confusing however…rich retirees at the shore, Wilmington is just a big slum and most of the population, with most of the interior being poverty, low wage factory workers in chicken plants.

    Florida is #3 after CA and TX in recent years during most months (the stats are by month).

    And Farmland. Plenty of Farmland without the chickens. :wink:

    Wife's family owns and rents out 3 large farms here. NNW of Dover with one over in MD.

    Cheers. :beers::beers:
