NBS BIF #16 Hints and Hauls: Sweet Sixteen - Teenage Lust Tastes Like Creamed Corn and Rolling Rock

Hint #12 - I have had the misfortune to have a layover at Newark Airport twice. Sadly if you live in that state, you're out.

Hint #1 - My target lives at a lower elevation than I do.
Hint #2 - My target does not live in the 3 states I've not had beer from (New Mexico, Rhode Island, West Virginia).
Hint #3 - My target does not live in the same time zone as I do.
Hint #4 - I've only been to your state once, on a layover, back in 2005.
Hint #5 - Jerry Reed had a hit song in 1977. Said song really goes well with what we do here. The title of that song tells you which ways I'm shipping.
Hint #6 - I could reach your state by water.
Hint #7 - Apparently my target hasn't had many beers from my state, or surrounding states (as far as I can tell). This will change.
Hint #8 - Your state was part of the original United States.
Hint #9 - I have had beers from your state, and your state is somewhere in my top 20.
Hint #10 - Trillium Brewing is apparently over in Wisconsin now, if you live in the state where it's made, I'm sorry, you're out of the running.
Hint #11 - In 2018 I went on a vacation to a great state, that has a highly decorated WW II era battleship named after it, and said ship sits in a harbor of said state. I took the tour of the ship in 2011, and loved it. Sadly, anyone who lives in this state is excluded. I did enjoy the beers from that state when I visited in 2018, and have had 10 beers from said state.

 

He also sent me a can, but I'll be bringing it to work to share. I've had it before, and loved it, but I want my co-workers to try it - I work in a liquor store.

 

Are there any good breweries near there that you can check out? If you have the time of course. I just hate to see a lay over wasted on anything but drinking. Cheers.

 

What a great place to work. I imagine you really have a good insight on the beer distribution in your area. Must be awesome to know what’s coming, and more importantly what’s been sitting on the shelf for 2 years.

 

I truly don't know. The layovers weren't long enough to leave, but they were long enough to hit up an airport bar, but couldn't find one.

Me, never. The people running this have done a masterful job juggling the cats and making it all work. Of course, I've only been doing this for a couple years, the veterans may have a different story just for sheer repetitiveness.

Yeah, I do keep up on it, though, we do have issues. We've been getting so many people ask for beers from Blackstack Brewing (St. Paul, MN), but we can't get it at our store. I'm tempted to go to our main store and ask the beer overlord how the hell can we get it.

We also go through our shelves at our store on a regular basis to purge outdated products. If anything has been there 2 years, it's because it's something that ages well. You won't find a 2 year old IPA in our store...

Well, except for that can of Pseudo Sue that rolled under our cooler, that we dug out when cleaning under the rails. That was an exception, and we wouldn't have even considered even selling it.

 

Who knows when I'm flying next. My plans are to drive to Montana again next year for vacation to visit my friends out there, and smuggle Grain Belt Premium and Nordeast there again as well.

I've got friends in NC, and was there in 2018 (and was supposed to go there in March 2020). With the cost of airfare through the roof, I doubt I'll head there. I can afford it, but do I want to spend an arm and a leg? I don't think so.

 

Hint #4 would keep you in the running - I was in Colorado once back in the early 80's on a layover with my parents when we returned to MN from California. That being said #5 took you out of the running. Sorry.
