Goldfinger Brewing (2022)

Agreed. This is a no-brainer. You will be five minutes from Pollyanna Roselare and Church Street. Really no need to go to Goldfinger, which is GREAT but usually only has 4-5 beers on tap. I was just at Church St. this weekend and they had lager collabs with Roaring Table, Art History and Riverlands all on tap plus their barrel aged variants of Midnight Mass. You can never go wrong with Pollyanna.

As noted above, a little further would be Mikerphone (great brewery but may not be your thing) and Wolfden (one of the more beautiful taprooms but beers are mediocre in my opinion).

 

Agreed. Another option is to grab some Goldfinger cans at Sal's Beverage World in Addison, which should have a decent selection across the board. That looks to be the closest place listed on Goldfinger's "Find Our Beer" page. I haven't had much Church St, but I've really enjoyed the lagers I've had from Roaring Table and Art History. Riverlands is good too, but a tier below for me. Either way, they're collaborating with some very good brewers.

 

I agree with most of the recommendations, but if you want to try to hit 1 spot only with a large selection of local beers, then you may want to try Beerhead in Schaumburg.

They may only have 5 or so beers on draft, but it's a fun place to hang out and every beer will be good.

Yes, that would be Church St. They will probably have no less than ten lagers on draft. They focus on lagers and German beer styles.

 

I’m with you. If hes somewhat nearby Goldfinger, go to Goldfinger. Yea, there are “only 5” beers on tap, and they’re all fantastic. How many beers can you drink in a sitting anyway, the guy is on a work trip

 

Is the dunkel seeing distro?

Yes, it is being distributed. Guessing stores will start receiving it this coming week.

 

To add to @Jaycase - They mentioned on FB and IG that the vast majority was seeing distro starting next week.

 

Is the polish lager they advertise on their website as coming soon up on draught yet?

I think I settled on going to Goldfinger this Tuesday evening, I get out from my meeting activities at 7:30pm. If anyone wants to meet up DM me.

 

Darn, seems they are not tapping it at the brewery until the next day. You will not be lacking for quality lagers, however. Enjoy.

Here is their release announcement from social media. Will be hitting stores this week along with the Dunkel. Looking forward to it myself.

 

I met up with @FBarber last night at Goldfinger. Great stuff! Was a little sad they only had Pils and Vienna Lager in cans to bring home, but that's ok. Their flagship original lager was probably my favorite, followed by the Pils.

Though I did this in the beer haul thread already, I wanted to give Frank a shoutout for his generosity with some awesome beers to take home from Half Acre and Revolution (among others). Always fun to meet other NJ transplants in the Midwest

 

The Baltic Porter slaps. Glad this is a yearly release.
