I have 3 large maples in my backyard. One is happily shedding its leaves but the other 2 are holding on to them for dear life. I figure I have about 5 or 6 more leave sessions. Cheers1

 

Have you ever tapped your maple trees? We have 3 good sized pecan trees. I'd love to have some homemade maple syrup tho. You seen the price of real maple syrup nowadays.

 

Which kind is it?

The one with red beets or the other one, with cabbage and tomato paste?

 

Nah, its a lot of work to make maple syrup and you need a lot of sap. I have thought of it but decided no ...

Not the most appropriate brew for our first snow here in the valley, but it needs to be consumed nonetheless

Almost anything worth anything you home make/grow is a pita in my experience. You tend to quickly realize why it has value. I love making my own shit tho. It's very satisfying for some reason.

Hey, not in one run! Just lost track of the early part of the week here in CO before tacking on some easy base miles in Chicago and just feelin' easy-breezy at that low altitude. There's a 4-5 day pay-off coming from altitude and so I just kept doing good double-digit runs in Chicago on the Lakefront trail (which is awesome). Just something different, flat, easy - easily lost track of the weekly total until I glanced at it on Monday. Cheers!

I agree - hell, I've even roasted my own coffee before. But making maple syrup is just too much of a hassle since I can go buy premium maple syrup.

I think at least having the know how to diy/ability to teach ourselves is worth something. We've got spoiled with supermarkets/stores never know when we might have to go without. Inflation and how quickly we can have distribution shortages has got me thinking about more diy living for sure.

Oh yeah I'm supposed to be getting some wedding cookies today. Been awhile since Iv had it. We shall see how it hits later.
