That's what I thought. It got me to thinking that some maples might produce more than others for whatever reason/ environmental factors to.

Dinner is done and dishes in the dishwasher…dessert beer - finishing yesterday’s bottle, Fremont’s Coconut Cacao BA Dark Star (2022):

Poured at 56°. Carbonation held up well overnight. Coconut, chocolate and bourbon. A beautiful barrel aged beer. The first half of this bottle yesterday inspired my long midday nap…this pour (at 13.5%) will likely result in an early bed time tonight. Cheers y’all!

@Hiwattowner - the rule of thumb is 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup.

The only thing I got right is that is was barrel aged. Jeez, I stink at guessing the style.

"Fancy" Vietnamese...at Moon Rabbit with a big bowl of vermicelli and shrimp. It is pretty damn good, even if it is a bit more expensive than my usual, Hughies.

Saint Arnold H-Town Pils in the glass.

And its not $2 Old Fashioned Tuesdays, but still only $5 Happy Hour at Johnny's Gold Brick. And changed it up with a classic Sidecar.

Whoa holy shit! I was also wondering about how much you'd lose if it needed to be processed further. If you owned a fuck ton of maples/land I could see how this could be a prosperous endeavor.

What does the maple water (sap/juice) taste like straight from the tree? White birch water/juice/sap tastes sweet. And it's good to drink as is. Just chill it first.

...it was a great time!...Jerry and Emma live near some fine parks...and, for me, it rejuvenates me, bringing back memories I have of north central Ohio with very similar landscape features and feelings...

How Much Sap Can One Tree Produce?
Well, that will depend on a few things, including weather conditions and the size, age and health of the tree. Most trees today have only one tap; only those with an 80-inch or greater circumference generally get two taps. On average, a tapped maple will produce 10 to 20 gallons of sap per tap.
