    I never had it from the tap, but I think it's on the sweet side - making syrup is basically boiling it down into a concentrated and sweeter form. All speculation ..

    ...now that's an interesting coincidence...I never heard of lion's mane mushrooms before, but my friend in MI told me about the mushroom when visiting him the other day...he mentioned its ability to promote neural tissue regeneration...do you use it for any specific reason or does it just taste good...???...I love good mushrooms in food...

    We went to a farm in Vermont about a month ago to see how they made syrup. It’s a simple operation, basically boil the shit out of sap to take all the water out. The collection process is labor intensive. There are only certain times of the year they can get sap and it’s usually in the spring when the trees thaw.

    That's cool!

    I know it has a lot of health benefits, but I just love mushrooms. The flavor is very mild. My favorite is Porcini.

    Well, @beergoot gots me in the Captain Beefheart mood. Spinning my personal favorite album from him, which is his debut. Safe as Milk. The jacket itself is a bit warped, but this is a great early (I think the second pressing, its hard to know with these ha) edition. I couldn't have afforded this without the slightly warped jacket ha, but the vinyl plays excellent.

    I locate nice Lion's Mane on about 5 local trees every year. They seem to prefer black oak and silver maple. It's like annual clockwork. Lion's Mane is more like chicken than frog legs. hah!
