the last time i had this beer it came in a 750mL bottle! been way too long. and boy, what a step up this is from the 2022 reg BA speedway i had a few months back.

all the bitterness of the coffee and the over-the-top oak of the original is replaced with chocolate-covered coffee beans and a mellow bourbon/oak presence. cheers!

Nice to hear. I have a 2013 I received in a trade that I just never got around to opening. Will likely open it up in the Cellaruary thread next year.

I didn't realize a flower pot was the proper glassware. Thought it was this:

cheers to the weekend! hope everyone has an imperial stout in there glass now, or will very soon!

this is Frig from Voodoo. apple brandy barrel-aged imperial stout. really well done on the apple brandy barrel-aging. heavy oak and spirit barrel with a subtle apple background and a huge, chocolate-forward base imperial stout.

Tree House - Persist. Picked up at the brewery a few weeks ago.
A "barrel blended" imperial stout, label says 60% barrel aged maple stout. Very very good. Maple, espresso, dark chocolate, rich caramel. moderately sweet, and extremely full bodied, silky mouthfeel.

At this point, the only reason I don't post in this thread is to annoy @Resistance88 . I'm drinking a BA stout right now.

Bottled in 2019. 9.5% ABV. Been sitting on this one for a while and tonight's the night. Velvety smooth with some alcohol burn, almost like something barrel aged. I need to grab a few more of these.

Big RIS from Ladd & Lass Brewing in Seattle. Deprived of Light - brewed with cacao, vanilla, and coconut. Compliments of @kemoarps in BIF 16.

The can specifically notes that this is not the typical sweet pastry stout, and they are right. Chocolate, coffee, leather, big roasted malts, burnt toffee, coconut, vanilla, molasses, and a nice earthy note. Not very sweet all. Clearly showcases the big RIS. Awesome beer!
