I went back and forth on buying the box set all day yesterday. The price point is steep but I feel like these guys do it better than the rest and I'll just have to cut the alcohol spending elsewhere. I was certainly surprised to see my card was actually charged twice and I was emailed TWO QR codes. Thankfully Half Acre has already said they'd remedy the mistake with a refund and judging by their replies on Twitter I'm not the only one dealing with multiple charges. I know Oznr has been buggy in the past but I feel it might be a better option nowadays?

I found last year's receipt. It was $150 + fees and taxes, so a slight increase for 2022. I thoroughly enjoy Benthic and its' variants, so took the plunge again. Cheers Half Acre.

I couldn’t pull the trigger. Want that Cherry Brandy, but not all the others. I have to make a case that these guys aren’t doing this right. BCBS set is a similar price point and each is a drastically different beers - barlewyine, fruit stout, pastry, reserve, etc whereas these are all pretty much the same beer with minor tweaks outside the cherry brandy barrel. If this would have been a set Benthic, 1 benthic variant and the previous two stout releases last month that would have been very appealing. This release is like a Fast and Furious marathon - I don’t need to see 9 of the same movies when one will suffice and don’t need to drink 9 similar variants when 1 will give the gist.

Oznr 100%. I have personally not had any issues with bugs there.

    a) You're not supporting Ticketmaster
    b) They're not buggy and always having issues with truffles or double charging or other stuff
    c) Less fees for the consumer. Pretty sure Oznr takes a smaller cut and you could just do a lottery without dealing with real-time waiting rooms.

i get this completely, but i have the answer, find a buddy! this pack splits in 2 perfectly

also for those keeping score this is the same price as the BBT pack, and 118oz more stout, and 11 more drinking sessions

This is not true, or at least not entirely true. Ticketmaster is on record saying that most of the fees go back to the seller. Its just a way to seller to make more money without looking greedy and pinning the blame on Ticketmaster.

In other words, if the selling platform wasn't Ticketmaster, the price would just be higher.

Thanks to google pay giving me an error message, I managed to buy 4 tickets...

Appreciate Half Acre's post saying additional tickets will be refunded - $800 of stouts was going to be very hard to explain ($200 is already a challenge!)

I'm stoked to try these - haven't had Benthic previously but heard amazing things. Dig the artwork, hope the box smells okay, and I really like the 12oz format - cheers all!

1 hour and 6 minutes later.

On IG, they announced a series of events! On the 9th they’ll have special stouts on tap. I hope that’s benthic!

I was going to sit it out, but then morning FOMO took over. Sent a message to a buddy I split a lot of packs with and he was down on half. So works out fine. Have BCBS 2x regular bottles calling my name in a couple weeks, KBBS + Reserve to consider for December 2, but otherwise, I'm done spending for the season until Rev January.when I tack on some additional DBVSOJ to my VIP allotments...

At least until some Catch Hell announcement early 2023...

And I'm sure Ticketmaster has never lied in the past...
I'd prefer OZNR simply for the fact that they're not Ticketmaster

Even if split, most of these are the exact same beer. Sunken and 2x4 are all coconut coffee Benthic with minor tweaks. Perfect one for release and make the others one off drafts like Rev does. No need to package three coconut coffee beers together with very little variation between them.

Had to hold off this year due to getting KBBS Reserve Set and planning to get a decent amount of BCBS. Would gladly take any regular Benthic that may see its way in to the world, as it is in my top 5 favorite beers

Bet your sweet ass! The only question was how many sets, and I opted for one thinking I would trade for more. Managed the KBBS + Reserve lotto win so that’s where the other precious few dollars are heading. Stoked for Cherry Brandy and the entire Benthic lineup!

Benthic doesn't sell out for an hour, Handjee vertical on draft for several days, is craft beer dead?

Of course we are buying these and drinking them for your scientific study in the event my wife asks.

Maybe some confirmation bias on my end, but we already know the outcome. About 2 weeks ago my Binny's put out a stack of Cherrywood, a stack of #4 (at $30 each no less...LOL), a few facings of Cola, maybe a case of Toasted, and has had a shelf full of 2 years of BCBS regular since last year. When I was back in there 4 or 5 days later they had sold very little. Even DB Toasted still sitting there. Assuming the distributor needed to make room for the new stuff.
