Revolution Brewing (2022)

The Brewpub. As noted previously, there was zero texture/mouthfeel.

I just stopped by the brewpub for lunch and had DT on draft. I will say when cold, it seemed a little more crisp than my cans (which I enjoy at cellar temperature). But in no way was it watery. It was also my first beer of the day.

 

I think that your mouth might be dead? (Just kidding of course)

Weird anomaly... Are you sure it was Deth Tar in your glass?

 

Scroll up. I tasted it and asked the bartender if it was normally that thin/watery (which I assumed it was not b/c I have had in cans previously). She took a pour and said that was totally normal. I then had the Currants which had a better mouthfeel and great flavor, and the Cafe Deth was off the charts good and so incredibly different from the base Deth Tar it wasn't even close.

 

That has been true of recent batches for sure, but I actually don’t think that was true at all of this 2022 blend which leans young. As much as I’d love to say you’re 100% correct because that’s the most romantic answer. You’d think it would be the same formula each year but each batch really does come together in pretty different ways depending on decisions made along the way and which extended age barrels that leaves us with.

Had my first '22 Cafe Deth this evening and it's outstanding imo. While I'm a coffee fiend and have thoroughly enjoyed Supermassive Cafe Deth, I think this year's Cafe Deth is just as good, if not even better, and will hit the spot for any coffee BA stout fans. I only have a 4pk so far and will be seeking out another.

 

If you're looking for the brown ale, Caramel Crisp, get to Jewel. The 4pks of 16oz cans were marked down 50% at our local store to $5.99 each.

Yea agree it's very good , just picked up a 2nd 4PK today.

 

Side note.. hard to believe Cafe Deth is almost 15% ABV
