I had Putin from them and i also thought it was not true to style at all ; more of an old/strong ale . it was good , but not what i expected.

2005 Bell's Batch 7,000. Incredible after 17 years! Intense dark chocolate, charred wood, black licorice, molasses, maple, coffee, tobacco, and port.

How's the hunt for the serial killer no one else acknowledges existing going though?
Damn, that old Bells label gives me all kinds of feels. It's like looking at a picture of my gramma and her sisters or something.

Finally getting into stout season down at the rainy cold farm. Served in Proper Glassware, this bad boy hit me with an absolute dark chocolate backhand on the nose. Like a chocolate bar that claimed to use whiskey barrel aged choc beans and was actually worth the premium.

Flavor is rich with that dark chocolate vibe as well as some really nice raisin/prune notes that fill it out. This is what the hell I want out of a BA stout. Absolutely tops. Well done Firestone Walker, well friggin done.

I have one of those socked away - planning to crack it open when its namesake leaves power.

I mostly lived in Portland from '97 to '03 and have always enjoyed Mr. Sprint's singular (sometimes strange) visions.

Oh, also @Argail I'll be New Orleans for a wedding in May. Do you do wedding photography and if not can you just meet me for a pic of me and my family where we look as good as your stouts? The cat is welcome! Some of the most beautiful pics on the site

VAS was definitely my favorite Ballast beer when living in PHX and of course cannot find it in North Carolina. It is just one of those beers that was the beer! Looked for it when it PHX in March but struck out. May need to have some sent @Resistance88 sometime in the near future.
    Cheers!

Sadly this was my last can of this. Really enjoyed this one. Heavy oak and spirit with a nice balance of natural, toasted coconut. Fantastic.
