    Ugh, no draft. That's how I mostly try these things.
    The whangdoodle reserve last year was surprisingly excellent imo, but I don't need a $60 bottle in a silly box. We just had a few pours. I wonder if those Grand Cru's will be similar to last years reserve.

    A few of these sound good and of course there are plenty of sugar bomb ones as we expected. Definitely interested in sampling the port and cognac ones, utopias, and obviously any Palls.

    I'm with you on that man, that's how I have whittled down my purchase list each year.

    I was a big fan of the Whang Reserve they did last year, its probably my favorite Whangdoodle they have done to date. Again, with you on not needing the silly box that seems to drive the price through the roof.

    Since presentation has become increasingly important to breweries, I'll chime in.

    Often, presentation doesn't cost that much. Instead, they are selling a lifestyle. It's not quite conspicuous consumption, but it's on the order of that.

    The problem is, this isn't Macallan 25. This isn't OG or 2015 BCBS Rare. This isn't something beyond done exceedingly rarely, but instead increasingly annually. -And, the contents rarely justify the presentation. If you just throw them around, it's like the boy that cried wolf. To that end, longevity is about creating and building that product line so that expectations by consumers are met. Again, it's just so rarely the case now adays.

    Everything feels like a cash grab. That burns the bridges as fast or faster than anything else. You help stem that tide by building and curating that line carefully rather than all willy nilly like.

    Forest Hill will have churros by ¡Que Churro! starting at 3:00pm. DJ NoMycee will be spinning from 3:00-9:00pm. We will be releasing a new cider and Forest Hill’s House Foedre Beer as well!
    Y Tu Mamá Mexican Food will be offering a special taco in celebration of the occasion (SHRAMP, Avocado, Tomato, Lettuce, Bacon & Chipotle Dressing). We will even be hitting the cellar and pulling out some rare draft!

    NORFOLK
    In Norfolk we will have Co-Pilot Jordan Copon from 12-5pm. Marg’s Marg will also be in cans!! Our new cider will make its release. Batch #2 of Norfolk House Beer will release for draft. We will have cellar draft out for this special day. lil 'za pizzeria will have a festive za added to the menu -The Gobbler - Roasted turkey breast, stuffing, cranberry and gravy We will be releasing limited Grand Opening NFK shirts. That’s not all…. We are hosting a vintage market all while this is going down from our friends Noon-6pm

    Open 12-10pm at all tasting rooms.

    Give: Peach (5.5%) is a brand new barrel-aged cider created with a blend of three types of Virginia apples and conditioned on a large quantity of whole Virgina peaches from Agriberry Farm. This beautiful Virgina product is corked and capped in translucent 750ml bottles. Tart, super peach-forward, and reminiscent of Jolly Rancher hard candies. $15.00 + tax each.

    Only available at Forest Hill and Norfolk starting Saturday 11/12/2022

    DARK DAZE CANS

    Graves (5%) is a brand new Dark Lager brewed especially for Dark Daze 2022.
    Brewed with floor-malted Bohemian Pilsner malt, a mix of delicious specialty malts, and hopped with Saaz. Fermented with our house lager yeast and cold-conditioned in pure darkness leading up to Dark Daze.

    WeDedMon³ (11%, blackout cans) is our 100% Citra triple dry-hopped TIPA
    We overloaded this beer with Citra for an intense, layered, and delicious tropical experience. We gave it an extra week to condition just to round things out even more, and went with this very limited blackout packaging just for Dark Daze.

    For those looking for a spot to watch World Cup next week, Veil's newsletter mentioned their NFK location will be open Monday for the USA match. Not sure about the other locations as it was not mentioned.

    Sunday 11/20: We will be opening *one* hour early to show the first match of the World Cup between Qatar and Ecuador! Hours that day will be 11AM-8PM.

    Monday 11/21 (NFK EXCLUSIVE) we will be *open* for World Cup viewing from 11AM-5PM. Matches that day are Senegal vs Netherlands at 11AM and USA vs Wales at 2PM. We’re typically not open on Monday’s which means that Lil ‘Za will NOT be open that day. BYO Food

    Saturday 11/26 - Normal Hours - 2PM match - Argentina v. Mexico

    Sunday 11/27 - Normal Hours - 2PM match - Spain v. Germany.

    I think it's just Norfolk, they've had some really fun street soccer tournaments here too. I'd much rather go to the Veil to watch the match than bdubs or something.
