it’s good! Full disclaimer that I’m no style expert and I have no reference about what’s a Zoigl beer is supposed to taste like. But I enjoyed it.

Picked up a single from Beer On The Wall AH. Untappd only had these two stores listed as of today (in addition to the two breweries I presume). Hopefully, additional stores will see it soon.

I've never heard of this style. Reading up on it, I still have no idea what separates it from a typical unfiltered lager in the brewing process. Is it only a Zoigl because of the area it's brewed? I'm also curious as to how it survived in **** Germany when the Zoigl 6 point star logo looks exactly like a Star of David.

Haven't had anything from Church Street in a while. May have to check this out.

FWIW, Zoigl is not a style per se (however, they usually are pale-ish lagers w/ Noble hops) but a tradition / method -- I wouldn't call it "fake."

Not sure what makes the Church Street Zoigl a Zoigl (I'm guessing the community aspect of it), but I can tell you that Dovetail Zoigl was called a Zoigl because it's the only lager we've let completely cool in the coolship and pitched yeast without the aid of a heat exchanger—like the Zoigl breweries may have done in their community breweries with coolships.

We then took it around town to different places and raised a virtual Zoigl flag at each spot. It was fun, and hopefully a few people came back knowing more about this brewing tradition.

I was joking. Clearly not effectively!

Still the Dovetail GOAT beer in my book ... and much like fishing stories, it only gets better in my mind each passing remembrance.

Goldfinger Rauch... probably not a beginner Rauchbier.

Definitely smoky, definitely smooth -- trying to dissect a backbone malt. Spicy hops adding the right counterbalance... wait... there's a sweetish, bready malt in the aftertaste thru the finish.

    Very nice.

Might even have to do it sooner than expected.

Well damn, I didn't even see the collab Maplewood logo on the can.

Yeah... If you've fallen under the spell of Franconian Rauchbier, you need to try the Goldfinger - Maplewood Collab. It's a great rendition for being far from the source.
