    Good day BAs! Thus far, it's dry but dark outside so maybe I'll be able to move the lawnmower into the shed and the snow blower into the garage today. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    The first of this year's BCBS for me - a bit disappointed because I LOVE ANISE and this is soooo weak in that department! Rating 4.07, rDev -4.7%

    Two local distributors get BCBS and variants. One will sell out over the next month. The other still has 2020 stuff left in his back room. The one with the leftovers told me earlier this week that AB sent him more BCBS than he ordered. Knowing it'd sit on a shelf for the next year or two, he sent the extras back. Neither can get the high end (30th, BW) variants.

    Henlo, dry and dark? Add cold to the mix and… Yes it is here too. Forget about the sun, we’re in for the long fall and winter haul. It is what it is.

    Trappistes Rochefort triple extra. Not so rare anymore here, easily found and not too steep.

    Hout Hakker is a pale ale from Brasserie 3 Monts in the north of France. Good one. Not everybody like 3 monts and their base beer but this may be more of a consensus.

    Thank you @Ozzylizard for kicking of the proceedings today. Perhaps the store stuck with 2020 can offer a 20-30% discount (will still recover cost / make a small profit) to move the product.

    Thankful this beer holds up well over time, but still best fresh.

    I stopped by Liquor Shed to grab another 6pack of Spaten Oktoberfest and I realized that I hadn't bought a Growler for some time.

    This is Epic Big Bad Baptisa. $13 for 32 ounces is not bad. The beer is great.

    My last Josef. Very solid American-brewed Pilsner. Not on par with Fox Farm, much less Suarez Family, but very good.

    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

    Clear, dark brown body; dense carbonation; thick, spongy head, off-white in color. Big maple syrup smell; sweet. Generally nice and relatively mild taste; brown sugar and maple syrup; mild bitterness peeking through the sweetness. Medium body; very smooth; creamy residual sugar presence.

    I initially thought the taste would follow along the lines of the powerful maple syrup aroma, but the beer was surprisingly restrained in that department. Yes, one unmistakably gets the taste of maple syrup, but it's balanced out with other malt goodness and is nicely offset with a temperate hop bitterness. A sweet beer overall, but not cloying. A very nice beer overall.

    Nice. I would love to try that one. I like the classic regular Clausthaler for one of the best nabv beers. It is just almost not to be found in recent years where I live.

    For the Love of Kveik. Traditional Norwegian beer from Bygland Framgarden (Norway). Somewhat like a saison farmhouse ale. But think kveik (big).
