Pretty beat at this point, but will go as strong as I can with the 2 am PST start today.

First stop Homage. Music is loud and a bit annoying, Will see if I stay beyond one.

    Homage Elizabelle

    Brewery Notes:
    $8 16 is draft, 6% ABV ESB.

Appearance: Draft pour into a narrow nonic, creamy white tan head leaves creamy layer over the base. Dark ice tea colored base. 3.75

    Aroma:
Lemon citrus, light to faint in strength. 3.0

    Taste:
Lemon citrus taste as well, a little malty. Southern Sweet Ice tea vibes. 2.5

    Mouthfeel:
Dry, slightly bitter. Light and easy drinking, despite a higher than normal abv for the style. A consistent prickly carbonation adds depth to a watery light base. 3.25

    Overall:
Perhaps not the first style this brewery is known for. May have liked it better on cask. Debating on whether to order a second beer here. 2.75

...I am...and I hope you're doing well with everything, including your running...perhaps we should hook-up again at Mash Mechanix sometime...

...yes, I've known and listened to Jeff Beck for decades, starting with his stint with the Yardbirds...but his 'Blow By Blow' album really sealed the deal with me...he was a great one...

Had to go with Banquet with Aperol added to it this time for @TongoRad
I’m not much of an Aperol fan. This drink would be better with a beer with more bitterness.

Impregnable dark colored body, basically black in appearance in most light; thick, densely foamy head, light brown in color. Outstanding aroma of rich dark malts, cocoa and bittersweet chocolate; deep malt sweetness; cocoa; some wooden barrel notes lurking in the depths. Incredibly rich and complex flavors; roasted grains with a note of char; well-balanced elements of milk chocolate; excellent presence of wood-aged whiskey; a suggestion of anise and coffee; a very subtle phenol edge accents the luxurious sweetness. Heavy body; dense and velvety with residual sugars; light bite of boozy heat adds character.

This beer exudes classic Hoppin' Frog big stout character with the added bonus of nailing what I assume are American bourbon and Irish whisky barrel aging. The beer has some rock solid Russian imperial stout heart while the barrel aging notes really do come across as a nice blending of bold, biting American whiskey counterpointed with a softer Irish whisky feel and flavor. In hind sight, I shoulda bought a few more of these beers...

Moving on, vibe and beer list looks better here, let’s hope the beer follows. With a @RaulMondesi Chavez Ravine background and aptly named beer in the foreground.

    Highland Park Brewery Hello, LA

    Brewery Notes:
$8 16 oz pour, WCIPA with Mosaic and Citra, 6.8% ABV.

Appearsnce: 16 oz ish shaker pint pour. Clear golden straw color vase devoid of carbonation. Creamy egg white ring around the rim and a dusting over the center. 3.25

    Aroma:
As dank as a weed filled CTA El Train Circa 2022. Cheech and Chong in the house. Not much else behind the curtain. Peaks my taste curiosity. 3.75

    Taste:
Steven A. Smith wouldn’t like this beer, but I’m digging it. Weeduh front and center, packed by a nice pine, citrus light tropical tangerine-ish back. Comes together well, frankness mellows a bit as I I near the half mile marker. 4.25

    Mouthfeel:
Dry, dank, light bitterness though sweetness pops in here and there. Drinks at the listed ABV, light prickly carbonation lurks behind the deceptively still base. Light and watery, dank pine lingers wonderfully. 4.25

    Overall:
Nice welcome to Highland Park Brewery, and nice West Coast Beer to break in the trip. May order a second tonight or upon a return trip. 4.0

    For the win

I liked both yet I found Photon to be more existent in the session IPA realm. I also really like Zero Gravity Little Wolf Pale Ale and even it, IMHO, borders on the style. I'd have it in a New York minute! All great tasting beers. Cheers!
