Imperial Stout Appreciation Thread (2023)

I’m starting to get a similarity of thematic value between your “man about town drinking beers” and @M-Fox24 “cute AF trained dog drinking beers everywhere.” That might not make sense, but I know what I mean…

In the mean time, I’m drinking a 2019 Parabola in branded proper glassware, so I shouldn’t hear any guff from @Resistance88.

 

…and like that, the East Coast takes control of imperial stout inventory. Muhahahahahaha!

 

It’s a shame to think that some parts of the country really have a ways to go on providing a diversity of micro brewed options in every style.

 

9/7 bottling. Not worth the price tag, but enjoying it nonetheless. Cheers stout advocates!

 

I could see that all the heat makes yellow beer preferable. Not everyone is willing to accept a stout as a good any season style.

 

Come on down to Florida, it’s stout season all year long somehow.

 

Omnipollo Daidalos…cheap-ish. Got it on sale for $5.99. I like this double-everything gooey monster.

 

I have a friend down there…maybe some day. Need to try some Angry Chair.

 

Angry chair gets a bad wrap for making sugar water but they can make great non adjunct stout and barleywine and make surprisingly good lagers and pale ales.

 

So many breweries never even try barleywine…sad. Maybe some day I’ll get back into home brewing and try it. Until then, the hunt is always on.

 

Difficult/expensive beer to home brew but a fun challenge. I honestly think angry chair’s “dave’s” series of barleywine is world class.
