Finally made it through all the DW releases so far and thought it’d be worthwhile to rank on the heels of the release next week. Biggest surprise was how low regular Deths Tar was because it usually ranks relatively high for me. Straight Jacket is insanely good this year and am actually happy I’m not local. Couldn’t imagine how much I’d buy if it was just sitting on the shelf.

    Straight Jacket
    Thundertaker
    Ryeway
    Lumberstruck
    VSO Dark Mode
    Cafe Deth
    Coconut Deth
    Deths Tar
    Deth by Currants

I'll echo this, there was a magical vanilla/marshmallow note in Deth last year. I know that the variance is likely due to barrels and their availability, but I also feel like this year's Deth was overly sweet. Could just be me.

    Cafe Deth
    Straight Jacket
    Thundertaker
    Ryeway
    VSO Dark Mode
    Lumberstruck
    Coconut Deth
    Deths Tar
    Deth by Currants

Ok, yes, I just moved Cafe Deth lol... and VSODM. Otherwise a great ranking by @TmKeisySC . Although I do have to go back to VSO Dark Mode, don't remember my notes from that one.

Completely agree on the sweetness of this year’s Deth.

This seems like fun so I'll chime in. My preferences fell into three tiers this year:

    A - Lumberstruck, Ryeway, Thundertaker

B - Straight Jacket, VSO Dark Mode, Deth's Tar

C - Deth by Currants, Cafe Deth, Coconut Deth

Straight Jacket could be in the first tier but it seems a good bit sweeter than last year (and SJ last year was unreal).

Deth's Tar also suffered a bit from a spectacular vintage last year - just not quite as good this year. I can't say it's sweeter than last year but I also haven't done a side-by-side.

I loved the first can of Currants but the remaining ones seemed a bit tart. Coconut and Cafe were very well done but I'm not a huge fan of coconut or coffee in stout.

We can talk all about this year's lineup, sure, but oh my goodness, someone please tell me more about VSO Gravedigger.

So I recall when they changed the current DW release away from their Toast page and to Shopify. I don't recall why, but doesn't matter. I'm suddenly realizing between season ticket, releases hanging around longer and moving to the Toast page, just buying IP, and my buddy buying for me at times, I've never used this page/format. This appears to be a totally separate account from my existing Rev one? Also, I have a Shopify account but this page keeps telling me I don't. Is this a completely new log in I need to make just for DW releases?

Does anyone know if you even need to log in? I can't remember having to log in when these came out in past...

Sorry to derail the release train, but the interwebs (aka Rev's website) says the brewpub has 2019 V.S.O.D. on draft?!

May have to make the journey for that...

How quickly do these releases typically sell out?

typically they don't ... you can still get a number of the 2022-2023 releases today. This one however is not typical, so I would assume it will sell out quickly.

to be clear tomorrow will be the only point at which you are likely to be able to buy this. I highly doubt they are going to have unsold 4-packs available on Friday.

    ...I don't think they'll have 4 packs available at 9:30am tomorrow.

Since this is the first and only release they didn't give us VIPs a crack at a preflop order to hit limits before the rest of the public, my guess is the beers themselves being much smaller batches to begin with (Double Barrel anything and VSOJ on top of it) and the allocated packs already spoken for and alloted to VIP, they in all probability will move quite swiftly. I'll be surprised if they last the hour, especially DBVSOJ.
