    I’m in Burlington! Huzzah!

A very generous BA has offered to help me get a bottle of Ann by simply trying to “win” the F5 wars at 7am. I am also planning to try, of course. In both cases, we are trying for me only, and by that I mean literally FOR MY NAME.

Has anyone ever done this before? Wondering if the best option is for us both to try from my account, or for them to try from their account but change the name on their profile to mine. Either way, my ID has to match, so you’d think it wouldn’t matter if it was their account as long as my name matched.

Lastly: I’ve never used Toast, so I don’t have a CC saved. Am I going to be Shit out of luck for Ann tomorrow because of that? Or do I need to find someplace around to throw away $3 or something so that I can have my credit card info in? I know I won’t have time to input it in the morning, and I assume they require it. So…? (Note: Toast does not allow you to save the info until you make a purchase.) I have an iPhone, and plan to use it (browser or app???) to try, but I don’t know if they allow Apple Pay to maybe skirt that issue.

I know this may be an unpopular post, but I hope not. This is all positive in my opinion. Just one nice BA helping another out.

You just need to get it in your cart and check out. No need to pay until you get to the brewery.

    Good luck!

I'm not sure there's any difference between mobile browser, app, or desktop site. People will just assume it works best with whatever they happened to be successful with last. Make sure if you're using the website (not sure how it works in the app) that the pickup scheduling pop-up appears. If there's no prompt, you won't be able to add anything to your cart and by the time you get back to the menu, it'll be sold out.

Honestly, I think the seeming randomness of the prompt is what causes issues for so many people. I tried for Ann twice: the first time, I loaded the page at exactly 7:00, the prompt wasn't there, so I reloaded, got the prompt, and couldn't get thru checkout quick enough. The second time, I got the prompt immediately but accidentally clicked a different beer after something loaded and pushed the page down. I had to back out of that page, go back to the menu, select Ann, and somehow still got it. That process took at least 20 seconds despite people on FB saying it was gone in 7.

tl;dr: There's some kind of fuckery and/or magic involved.

Refreshed page at 7 and it said "ordering unavailable". Refreshed again and it said the same thing. Refreshed a 3rd time and Ann was already gone.

So basically I was locked out of ordering for about 15 seconds after 7 and then when I was finally allowed to choose a time slot and order, it was sold out.

    This shit is dumb.

Tried today and no dice, but decided tomorrow is probably the better time for me to go, so I'll get a second shot tomorrow.

A question: This morning I got into the webstore, got it into my cart, and then almost checked out (it was clumsy - first time). When I went to my cart I could click checkout, but then when I tried it told me it "Couldn't process the order".

Is that an issue with CC info not being in, or something else? Another BA who struck out hadn't seen that message before.

Alright, sorry for the spam posts everyone. OK, so here's the deal. At 7:49 or so, I bought a jar of honey to see if it was going to make me pay. It didn't, and I checked out smoothly. Despite setting an 11:30am pickup time, at checkout it told me to pickup by 4:30pm. Then when i went back into the online shop at 7:50, Ann was there. I added it, bought it. Got it. Got the e-mail confirmation. I can see on Toast that it shows I bought it in the "order again" selection at the top.

It happened in such a way it feels like wrong. I had already changed my plans, and was just going to go tomorrow, but I guess I am now back to going today.

Surely if I have the e-mail and everything, regardless of how this happened, it is real, right?!?

That’s awesome. I saw that happen with regular old Arthur the other day when I was trying to figure out how the Ann sale would work, and it struck me it wouldn’t be impossible it would ever happen w one of the limited bottles given there’s gotta be a person or two getting their order canceled for trying to repeat buy.

Also, in case you’re worried about it, they don’t care about pickup time, I think that’s just an artifact of choosing Toast.

Thanks! Yea, my thought was really - if this is a screw up - surely they won't deny me. It's a legit e-mail. It has to work, right? It's not like they don't have "an extra" bottle for the screwup.

So, looks like I am going today!

The disbelief sounds like the experience of finding a parking spot in NYC. You still gotta walk up and down the street to make sure none of the signs screw you over.

Can someone please enlighten me why is Ann so desirable and why are people losing their shit over it?

If you haven't had any of the core HF farmhouse beers, they are very, very good: Arthur, Anna, and Florence. They age a whole bunch of each in (generally white wine) barrels, and the wine barrel batches they deem good enough become Art, Ann, and Flora. I'm not sure they would tell you one is better than another, but Ann comes out most infrequently and seemingly always in the shortest supply, generally either 1pp, lottery, or on-site only. So it's a combo of being legitimately among the best beer they make + the rarity. For contrast, Flora came out a monthish ago and I believe was 2pp and lasted a couple weeks of regular availability (ie not 7 seconds at the beginning of each day lol) before selling out despite being essentially equivalent process wise.

Definitely some fuckery going on with toasttab. I wasn't even able to select a timeslot until almost 7:01. And then once I did, Ann was of course already gone. Using an android.

    Yes Im buttmad.
