I knew I should have came up yesterday to try Ann on site rather than today. I got greedy and wanted one more shot at it so ended up staying in my hotel an extra night lol

“After being placed in wine barrels, the evolution of Anna into Ann is an indeterminate and metamorphic occurrence. Only a single digit percentage of all wine barrel-aged Anna becomes what is unmistakably identifiable as Ann. The beer, the barrel, and some yet unknown, unquantifiable condition seems to dictate its path and appearance. It is identified and selected only through the emotional response that it induces during barrel tasting.“

Sounds like Shaun really paired this release well with the beer itself. I can’t personally speak on the subject, but it seems like an indeterminate and metamorphic experience. Only a single digit percentage will acquire. Unknown, unquantifiable blah blah hype blah induced emotional breakdown when not acquired.

I have a light work day so figured I'd take a shot and make the 10 hour round trip if I lucked out. Like you, I saw the menu appear first but I didn't get the pop up to pick a time slot. I had to reload a couple more times before I was able to do so and by then it was sold out. Not getting the time slot to load on the first try seems to be the kiss of death here.

Yeah, seems like there are some bugs that posters have encountered where if you get one, you’re screwed. It’s definitely a stressful process, as one false mouse movement or click will kill you.

I’m an absolute idiot and drove from Pittsburgh to hole up in a hotel in NY and work remotely for the past 3 days to so that I could make the trip had I won. I’m an 11 hour drive from HF, so purchasing and driving up same day isn’t an option for me unfortunately. At least I’ll get to try this on site today at open damn, I wanted that feeling of elation by procuring the bottle lol. I was 0/3 this week. I knew this process well and was able to get last April’s Art on the first try but Ann seems like an entirely different beast.

Maybe that is the "indeterminate and metamorphic" aspect!?!

    Cheers!

Nah he checked out of Hill Farmstead a year or so ago, even though he's pretty local.

And the emotional response of when Anna becomes Ann was my crying in my hotel this morning when my purchase didn’t process.

I need a blind taste test from those who have been lucky enough to try both. What's more delicious: (1) Ann, or (2) ingesting the drama surrounding the weeks of releases re: "glitches," locals, tourists, weather, insane cross-country drives, resales, etc?

I've only had (2) but it's incredibly tasty (although obviously previous batches have been superior in my humble opinion).

I’ve only ever had number 1. Can’t imagine what 2. Is like.

I originally thought this as well, but I didn't get the time slot until the 6th or 7th refresh and I got a bottle. The toast system is a complete, unknowable mystery.

Not to add to the conspiracy theories but my Ann order number was #27 today and my follow up order for my non-Ann goods after Ann showed sold out was #47.

I also had to refresh multiple times and got a strange error message on my first submission but on resubmit it went through. Was on a desktop pre logged in to Toast for the record.

Can you explain the nuance / conspiracy for the Toast virgins / Toast-curious among us?

I've had both, but not blind or side by side, and I'm gonna be honest: 2 is more delicious.

Based on people's order numbers the previous days the thinking has been they were releasing between 50-60 bottles per day. If it's sold out at #47 they are either releasing considerably less or people are ordering > 1 bottle and then having it refunded which messes up the entire system (and can explain the previous report of someone getting a bottle later in the day).
