Side Project stout available for pre-order. $50 but YOLO, never bad a SP beer before and it’s got maple syrup and double barrel aged. Sign me up
All of the BC variants are just sitting at local stores around me. At least the 2 I frequent. I hope this casues stores to complain to GI and they start dropping their prices next year. I just heard about Tavour for the first time last week when Rev sold DB VSOJ on it and it intrigued me. But seeing the prices and now reading through this thread it's caused me to run far away.
I was tempted when I saw SP/Shared on my feed as well, but a lot less interested when I saw that price tag. Unfortunately I'm trying to cut back a bit on my Tavour spending, especially after the Rev drops last week. Let me know how it is, though!
Yeah, probably going to regret it. I’m limiting my boxes now. I got a little out of control a few months ago and a good amount of beers I bought were not great. To breweries unload their beers that don’t sell to Tavour? I’m sure it happens
Their Advertising and cute little write ups can do these things to people. Every stout i grabbed from tavour was garbage. I used it once and never again. When I say Garbage...i mean that.
Technically, it isn’t fully double barrel aged. The explanation of the beer makes the term DB a bit confusing. They start with their parfait “base”, which is a blend of BA and non-BA stout, then they BA’s that. I feel like I am pissing in your cheerios, and not trying to. Just trying to be informative, since it is confusing.
Oh I know I'm making a mistake buying it. I should really uninstall the app, but then they dangle the slight chance of getting something like DB VSOJ in front of me, and I just keep trying to scratch the itch
Haven’t seen Fuzzy or any SP show up on my end either. I’ll have to be on the lookout and hope it shows up for us eventually since Fuzzy is pretty phenomenal IMO.
Didn't see anything on mine. The other SP offering just disappeared as well (doesn't say sold out, just vanished). The mysteries of Tavour
We should get a Tavour rep on this thread or have an AMA. I have so many questions...can't tell if all the frustrations and inconsistencies with the app are by design or flaw
Pretty sure it is mostly be design. From a marketing standpoint, it’s straight forward as long as someone has been around long enough and interconnected between groups to follow was WAS available at various points. That is, if you NEVER know if something is going to show, but you know it could, and you never know for how long or on what quantities, then you are likely to become an impulsive buyer. That’s what they want. Or, if you prefer, it’s straight up FOMO, but not just from the standpoint of “I might like this”. They’ve basically super charged FOMO, because they are teaching you that you don’t have time to think. Just buy!
