I'm not one to care for matching glassware, but this one i have always wanted.
    Thanks , Spidey!

I've NEVER been a superdupermassive fan of BA Old Rasputin. Earlier today i saw this single at TotalWine today and couldn't help myself ,but primarily due to them having such a SHITTY selection of singles . ( nothing new)

Edit : Haven't had BA Raspy in a while and this is tasting really good. More barrel influence than i remember and has all that Raspy Glory i expect.

Other Half / Homes 9th anniversary collab stout. This is excellent. The cacao nib and vanilla adjuncts listed might make you think it will be desserty, but it really isn’t. The nose is all bourbon and barrel. The flavor follows the nose, with a big but fast alcohol bite. Stains the glass brown. Definitely has a sweetness to the malt base, but it won’t cause you to look for the insulin and a syringe.

Tavour just had that. I passed. There are so many things I “need” to buy the next couple of weeks. I opted for the SP “Parallels” and Boss Ryeway. Then there’s the OH #9 stout to get more of. Then Bananaversary is out this week. Then the Baladin BWs for trade. Then the GI BCBW ‘22s to buy. Sure, I have a job. Sure, my nerts are fully descended. Sure, my wife is going to have some words about $500+ in beer on the credit card. It’s flippin’ stout and barleywine season dammit!

    Fixed it for you. :sunglasses:

I've never had a side project stout.
I have a SideProject/Anchorage collab called "King Of Darkness " here and a 2021 BBT in my fridge , but i have yet to open either. We'll see wtf the big deal is soon enough.

If you like Coconut in your BA stouts I'll tell you know you made a mistake passing on Kapeng Buko cuz it was damned delicious!

Victory Brewing - Dark Thunder Storm King. I prefer the regular version, but it's still pretty good. Luckily the coconut is fairly subdued.

Wanted to try this for a while and thanks to cool people like Sull on here i can get the chance.
Holy Crap this fucker is thiccck as hell.
Pours thicker than Hersheys syrup into the glass .
Nose is a blast of sweet milk chocolate and coffee . Taste is same...blasted my sweet chocolate and coffee. The thickness and sweetness makes it really hard for me to take more than a 1/4 oz sip . There is a nice boozy heat that helps offset the sweetness for sure, but as thick as this is I'm gonna put the rest away and have it tomorrow.
Not a bad beer at all.. just a whole lot going on to try to put down by myself .

Glad youre enjoying the extended sampling. Happy to hook you up with the beer!

What does that salt and pepper set in the hyperlink have to do with the beer?

Good day BAs! Today's New Breakfast Beer is:

Dragon’s Milk Triple Mash from New Holland. 12 oz bottle. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Received from @Whyteboar in NBW BIF #16. Reviewed 31/01/23 (Review 3126). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Printed on label “2022 RELEASE” and stamped in shoulder in yellow ink “09/08/21 09:26”. Served at 57.7 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 61.8 degrees.
    Appearance – 3.5
First pour – Medium Amber (SRM 12), clear.
Body – Brown (SRM 30), opaque. Under direct light, opaque chocolate brown with noticeable precipitates. When rear lite, same but xanthous at the edges. By the final temperature, it is slightly translucent.
Head – Average (Maximum two cm, aggressive center pour), wheat, medium density, fizzy, quickly receding to a 0.1 cm bubble ring and several irregular bubble islands.
Lacing – None. Really not expected at 17.3% ABV.
Aroma – 3.5 – Weak bourbon and roasted malt. Slight oakiness and a bit of caramel. No hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 3 – Distinctly bourbon forward, no hops, no yeast. The bourbon drowns out any other flavors although a bit of oak appears in the aftertaste. No ethanol (17.3 % ABV as marked on label) aroma or taste. Initial gastric burning occurs but quickly mellows. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3 – Thin, watery, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Disappointing. The appearance was typical of impy stouts in general, so no surprises there. The palate is unpleasantly thin. Bourbon dominates the aroma and flavor profiles to excess. There is little stout present, just cheap bourbon. Perhaps using barrels from a better distillery would have improved the overall experience. It leaves my lips slightly sticky and my fruit fly drinking friends curious but undecided.
    Rating 3.25, rDev -23.3%

I'm sorry to nail this variant to the wall - just too much bourbon and not enough stout. And my fruit fly drinking buds have decided - one flew away and I have to fish the other's corpse from the dregs.

All of which brings up a question - is this technically part of the Dragon Milk Reserve series or not - the label lacks the word "Reserve".

Huh, so it *wasn't* just me having an off day with that beer. I had a similar experience with that one but thought I was off my game at the time. It really was a poor 4 pack then, apologies for sending you a bad one.
Curiously, I met a couple of guys down at the Bell's Barrel day who stated that the Triple Mash has not been as good of late. I thought they stated 2022 was the last "good" batch, but I may have remembered wrong.
