This would be welcome news indeed. I recall FFF wanted to remodel the brewpub because it didn't "flow" well due to their piecemeal expansions. Gonna wait it out.

What drumbeats? Are you getting this from a FFF worker? They’ve consistently said they aren’t going to re-open it. If they are moving take out to the distillery it would fit with what they have said all along in that the distillery space will re-open.
That being said, they did have that massive brewpub park plans they released years ago that seemed to have fizzled out once they bought and moved production to the Whole Foods warehouse. Wonder what they would do if they decided to re-open. Hopefully lots of outdoor space with shade.

Not sure what all their plans are for either the brewpub or distillery but the kiosk looks like just a temporary spot for now. I went today and all it is when you walk in the distillery door they have all their shirts up on a racks and then a podium where you check in. If they are re opening the distillery they would have to move this because it would be in the way. They did mention they moved it on Monday and it was to do some work but not sure exactly what they are doing

I am pretty sure the Whole Foods warehouse was purchased in 2019, and only some production was moved there (specficially the beers going in cans).

The major renovation plans came almost a year later in early 2020 before everything shut down.

Then once they announced the brewpub was closed permanently they said those renovation plans were on hold indefinitely.

Just saying I don't think the Whole Foods warehouse purchase had any bearing on killing those plans, rather I think COVID did it in.

In February of 2018 the Tribune broke a story that FFF filed a plan with Munster to double their facility size with a world class brewpub expansion and was supposed to be completed by 2019 or 2020. They never even broke ground on that project…Covid in 2020 would have had no bearing on them not starting the project the two prior years.

my guess is the brewpub space will be converted to offices and then the tap room will go back

this is the same company that said they were going to build a Chicago brewpub back in 2013 with nothing to show for it.

Heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend, that...

Heard this from a couple of different people, who were told by employees. Rumors for sure so that's why I labeled it as I did. I hope it proves to be true - I miss going there for sure.

You are right. I googled an article and for some reason the article was dated Feb 2020, It was Feb 2018 that it was announced. maybe the article was updated in 2020 and they changed the date on it or something dumb like that.

They did start on the project somewhat though, because they purchased the building just to the south of them and demolished it. Check Google street view 2017 vs 2019.

Although I guess focusing on canning & distro was the right move. The moved up into the top 25 largest breweries in the US because of it.

As for the Chicago brewpub, yeah it was 100% announced and in the Tribune. Then I went on a brewery tour like a year later and Chris Boggess was the tour guide. I asked him about the Chicago brewpub and he said that it was nothing but a rumor started by people who live in Chicago and think all good things have to be in Chicago. I was like wtf... I'm pretty sure I read that in the Tribune with quotes from Nick Floyd himself.

I know, that's the funny thing. Chris Bogges doesn't live in Indiana either, he lives in the suburbs in Illinois IIRC.

Looks like they have 50 Million Dollar Man at the brew-publess if you are into that sort of thing. They released that last January as well so if they are on a similar schedule (crosses fingers) Cocomungo came out in Feb 2022. Anyone know what's on the horizon for them in Feb.? Considering we saw Crushing Mass again I would hope a Cocomungo repeat is coming next month...or some other barrel aged stout.

Let’s hope for a Vanilla variant. I want to see what a “cheap” vanilla 4-pack looks like.

Considering the high quality of Crushing Mass, CocoMungo, and Dismembers Stout and some reviews saying they outdo their similarly adjuncted DL counterparts, I can't see them risking destroying the hype cow of MH* with a potentially par or better vanilla variant. Plus the quantities they are putting MH out at DLD now pretty much saturate the market.

That was my first thought (worry? concern?), but...I can hope. Haven't tried Handjee, so I want to see what they can do.

I'd be down for something with Cinnamon that isn't a mexican chocolate inspired. Let me see something that's balanced that doesn't have peppers.

I don't love cinnamon in stouts. By that I mean that, unlike coconut, it's not an adjunct where I can seemingly like anything with the adjunct. BUT, the ones that I enjoy I really, really love. So, here's to hoping.
