Beermongers tapped a fresh keg of Miller High Life

 

I just left Belmont and Younger is still going. It might make it to tomorrow. This years is delicious. Very nice hop aroma and taste, and not very boozy.

 

I heard from a pretty reliable source that Apex got four 1/2 barrels this year. So I'd guess it'll be around there for a while.

I know of at least one sixtel going to a place in Salem that's never had it (I have been asked not to name names yet), which means at least two places in Salem should have it this year. Venti's is the other place I expect to see it, but haven't seen anything on socials yet.

 

One random afternoon in 2012 or 2013, I was at Portland Brewing because I had a Groupon (remember those?). Anyway, I was browsing FB and saw Hop & Vine post that they'd be tapping it at open. I hightailed it over there & got there about 10 minutes before they opened. The door was unlocked, so I asked if I could come in. They obliged. I proceeded to sit at the bar with two other guys and enjoy three glasses of PtY. Thankfully my wife was nearby and able to rescue me since I was in no shape to drive after that.

That was a good day.

No announcements yet about Bend/Central Oregon. I was at Point Blank's Bend warehouse yesterday and asked if any PtY was destined for Bend. His "I don't think so" has me questioning how much the guy was aware vs. accepting it as an actual "no," but I think that's just my FOMO talking.

 

It's currently on at the Tiny Bubble Room. I'm enjoying one more.

 

I live in Beaverton. I was over at Saraveza for the Block 15 event. I ventured over here after that.

 

Honestly, it's the second time we've been at the same venue this week.

 

I was there then. I was sitting in a back booth. I thought all three of the Super Nebula's were very good. The Kriek was also good in a small amount. It was a little on the acidic side.

 

Venti's pricing in the basement bar is pretty high, often more dollars per ounce than Apex for less rare beer, so I hope to be able to get some Younger somewhere else.

 

I had it at Venti's south in 2017 or 2018, and at the downtown basement bar in 2020. I know both times pours were a 12oz tulip, but I don't remember the price. I want to say it was probably somewhere in the $8-11 range. Not great, but not awful. Especially considering PtY was available in Salem at all.

But yeah, the prices since they updated the basement bar into The Beer Vault are pretty nuts, and I'd expect PtY pours there to follow suit. I've only been in once, and I can say for sure it won't be a regular stop for me like it was back in the day.
