As life-long, diehard Eagles fan, today is a big day. I've been fortunate enough to be at the last two Super Bowl's the Eagles played in, so today will be a different experience watching on TV. The nerves are already starting.....best to get a beer or two in before the game.

This is Bourbon Barrel-Aged Framinghammer, a Baltic Porter from Jack's Abby.

Nice looking beer, highlighted by a robust, thick coffee ice cream colored head that had excellent retention and left behind excellent lacing. Aroma is a really nice blend of barrel, chocolate and light roast. Taste is heavy on the barrel and heat, maybe a little bit too much for my liking, but I am enjoying some nice char on the finish. Feel is excellent. Full and creamy.

    Overall, enjoyable beer.

Golden Keys by Talking Cursive Brewing -7% New England style IPA

Hazy yellow body with good initial head and light lacing throughout the tasting.

Nose is an appealing tropical pineapple. A nice lightly sweet and hoppy aroma.

Taste follows nose and has the expected low bitterness base with the familiar hop holy trinity of Citra, mosaic, and simcoe. Not a hop bomb by any means. A little sweet, but not nearly cloying.

Mouthfeel is good with solid carbonation and creamy oat feel from the golden naked oats.

A pleasant enough beer that I'd try on tap.

Having a few friends over for the Super Bowl. Hoping for a good game that is settled by the players and not the referees.
Starting off with Pirate Weekend, a stout aged in rum barrels with coconut, cacao nibs, and marshmallow flavor.
The beer is a black color with a small, quickly disappearing head. No lace.
Aroma of booze, chocolate, coconut, and vanilla.
Taste follows nose. Rum, chocolate/chocolate fudge, coconut, sweet vanilla.
    A big beer. Sip carefully.

@FBarber this seemed like a good day to crack open one of the handful of Keeping Together beers I still have on hand thanks to your generosity. Go Birds!

Bottled in 2020 and received courtesy of @FBarber. Beautiful beer. Glowing yellow with loads and loads of light, sea foam head that hung around for a long time and left behind plenty of lacing. Aroma is earthy, lemony funk.

Taste and feel are fantastic. A perfect blend of light grasses & grains, lemony funk, a light peppery spice and an intangible awesomeness that I can't put my finger on, but that I almost never find outside of Keeping Together and Hill Farmstead beers. So light, dry and crisp. Outstanding beer.

My first beer of the day. Conway’s Irish Ale from Great Lakes

It looks a little murky in my sub-standard pic but it is absolutely clear.

According to the data base I consistently rate this style well above the average. I guess Irish Red Ales make me happy. This is a beer I could spend a day drinking while reading a book seated in the corner of a Pub. If available I will be stocking my cooler with these on my next camping trip.

    Best by: 3/18/23

Very clear rich looking reddish copper. The half inch tan head recedes to a ring inside of a minute, but the ring remains for the duration of the glass.

Nice doughy malt aroma. Flavor is more toasted malt with earthy hops. The full malt semi-sweet flavor drys a bit by the finish. Hop bitterness is mild. Body approaches medium weight and is smooth and a little creamy all the way through.

Traditional, not fancy, but very good. A pleasure to drink. I definitely want a second.

    Cheers!

Pale yellow body, clear; sparse carbonation; thick, billowy, white head. Outstanding aroma of light cracker and low-key lemon-lime citrus notes. Light, delicate flavor; very mild malt presence, a bit biscuit-like; a bit of fresh cut grass and light citrus flavor; very quiet bitterness. Light bodied and soft on the palate; pillowy; very pleasant light balance of sweetness and dryness.

This is a an easy drinking beer, fairly clean and mildly crisp on the palate and very crushable.

Two weeks later I am still working through my Tree House haul.
Poured from a 16oz can stamped INCREDIBLE BREW 01/16/23 to a Nonic at fridge temperature.
An opaque glowing apricot body sits below a pure 3/4 inch puffy white head. Lacing is generous.
The smell is of cantaloupe, strawberry and hops.
The first taste seems to bring a surprising hit of the alcohol. That sensation faded with a few sips as I became accustomed to it, but returned again if I let the glass sit for a while. The melon comes back, so does the strawberry. There is a bit of hop burn in the finish, but not overpowering.
Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation clears things out nicely.
Overall, it can be harsh but there is enough to satisfy if you can tackle it.

Well friends after having a nasty cold two weeks ago; another one came on quick and fast last night, an obnoxiously stuffy nose…so I’m not gonna review a beer I can’t enjoy to its fullest. Enjoy what’s in your glasses today and I’ll leave you with this instead…we got some good food over here.

Cheers everyone I’ll see you all next week :beers:

Lasting Brass Brewing Co. Vorticity IPA 6.5% ABV

Never seen or heard of this brewery. They are out of New Haven, Conn. Brewed at Twelve Percent Brewery (never heard of them either).

Cloudy opaque dull orange in appearance.
Nice frothy 1 1/2 inch frothy head. Fades fairly quickly but has nice lacing.
Aroma is sweet orange juice and passion fruit.
Body is touch lighter than medium with nice amount of carbonation. Has a slight prickly feel to it.
Taste is semi sweet oranges, passion fruit, maybe a little tart nectarine.
Finish is a touch dry with some slightly bitter citrus. Finish is tad light, wished it lingered a little longer..
Overall this is really nice; a well balanced easy drinking beer that is not overly sweet or filling and has a nice hop profile. Wish I had another one to drink, but I only bought a single.

Howdy NBS and Happy SB Sunday!
Don't have a dog in the fight but as a Giant fan it's very difficult for me to root for Philly....sorry Iggles fans. However may the best team win.
Daboll did get COTY and it was well deserved....
Speaking of winning how about Belleflower out of Portland ME.
    This ones called
Into The Kaleidoscope ('i' before 'e' does not apply here). Back to business.
    Citra/Amarillo DIPA
Pouring a pale hazy yellow with a large creamy long lasting head. Leaves nice sticky lacing as well.
Fantastic aroma of sweet orange, passionfruit, melon, peach and pear.
Tastes of stone fruits, citrus including a touch of grapefruit, a little bubblegum yeast character.
Lightly carbonated, soft feel from the oats, no hint of 8% abv.
Recently got distro of this brewery and glad we did. So far they've all been good but I believe this is the best.
Really good brew. Def give Belleflower a shot if you're into IPAs.
    Cheers![IMG] [IMG]

Lasting brass has a small brewery and tap room in Waterbury CT. 12 Percent is a contract brewery in North Haven CT. They also have a tap room that I have visited once, Its nice because you can sample beers from multiple breweries/brewers.

Good Super Bowl Sunday afternoon, New Beer Swiggers and commentators. My wife and I have been busy all afternoon reviewing dozens of photo albums. Like most Baby Boomers we took WAY too many photos of our kids as they grew up. So we've been discarding "bad" shots and duplicates before we digitize. It's amazing how fast the time goes by; the kids grow up before you know it.

So I'm finally drinking some pre-game beers. First, is Honey Drip, a Brown Ale from Bill's Brewing Co. in Wilmington, NC. My (non-BA) friend Bill had to check out the brewery when he was in Wilmy a few weeks ago. This is actually a lot better than I expected. Canned on 11/11/2022. It pours a slightly hazy, ruby-cola color with almost a finger of creamy, light khaki head and abundant soapy lacing. On the nose there is sweet malt, caramel, honey, and just a whiff of raisin or fig. The taste is just as described; caramel malt with a nutty background and the clear taste of honey. Despite these flavors it's not overly sweet; in fact, the honey is used really well. There is little hop bitterness. I like the mouth feel: it's fairly creamy with an appropriate level of carbonation, and the 6.3% ABV gives it heft without drinking big. Overall, Honey Drip is a nice Brown Ale, whose whole exceeds the sum of its parts.

Does sound like a nice place to check out. After watching video I know now why that beer is available locally, all the other breweries shown are available locally. Fat Orange Cat, Aslin, Marlowe, Abomination and Skygazer. Never knew!
