Biked to the beach (Standley Lake Westminster) to have a beach beer and reminisce on summer.
Great Divide Hibernation Old Ale. I'd say this beer fits the mood perfectly. I should probably bike out of here before Temps drop too much though...

And that glass is awesome I've never seen one like that. Where'd you get it, or what's it called?

 

I really like it fresh and SwampHead Brewery is about 25 miles from our house, they turned 15 years in business yesterday.....cheers!!!

1) BlackStack Amarillo and Chill (7.0%): A Cold IPA from Minnesota with Amarillo for flavors of lemon/lime citrus, some herbs and pine, hints of tangerine. Smooth and clean.

Never really got onto the Cold IPA trend. Probably for good reason. This one has mild lemon/lime flavors. Traces of pine and herbs. A hint of tangerine sweetness from the Amarillo that never really develops. Drinks less hoppy and heavier than an IPL but less crispness and carbonation than a Brut. I probably won't go chasing any more Cold IPAs.

Outside is 66°. No breeze. No mosquitoes (too soon for bugs). Just SWFL heaven weather-wise. Cheers y’all!

Revolution Boss Ryeway BA Ryewine (aged for 15 months in WhistlePig The Boss Hog VIII: LapuLapu’s Pacific barrels aka extended aged rye whisky that was finished in Philippine Rum casks). This is really something special. Ryeway to Heaven is possibly my favorite barrel aged yearly-release beer by these guys and this version just takes it up a notch that I didn't know existed.
It has all of those familiar notes of the regular Ryeway such as caramel, Werther's Originals, creme brûlée, raisin, fig, rye spice and so on, but they are more accentuated by the rum casks that finished the rye whiskey. It is definitely sweeter than regular Ryeway, but the spirit character also seems more intense, drying it out a bit and providing some semblance of balance. Just a treat to drink. Rev's barrel program is simply ridiculous.

 

Lupulin NA CPB Oatmeal Porter (chocolate peanut butter). Pours black with a 3+ finger tan head that left some lacing. Nose is incredible chocolate and peanut butter. Narrator: If it only tasted half as good as it smelled. Taste is very light chocolate and peanut butter, though with zero sweetness, and faint bitterness. Decent mouthfeel, but overall very disappointing compared to the A version. The taste of this should have nothing to do with being NA.

I don't get why this tastes so much worse than the original. Eliminating the alcohol shouldn't eliminate the sweetness and most of the taste.

Greetings from Orlando, here to enjoy the weather for a few days. First up tonight is Grolsch followed by Bitburger. I’ve never tried Bitburger and it’s been years since I’ve had a Grolsch. It’s better than I remembered…but last time I tried it I was young and dumb, now I’m just older. Hope the Bitburger is as enjoyable. Cheers.
