    Seems to me that this new system is very similar to Untappd badges; you get one every 5 times you do something. Drink 5 new IPAs on UT, get the next level on your IPA badge, review 5 new beers here, get a bump in your points.

    Maybe ownership wants an experience that folks are already familiar with.

    It's the forum's built-in system, which pre-dates Untappd. I just tweaked it and extended the code to support custom stats.
    Nope. I simply wanted a "more fun, engaging, transparent, and efficient" system, and one that'll be greatly enhanced once our forum upgrade is finally complete.

    In fact, I tried rolling out a version of this same system years ago, but rolled it back due to an overwhelming negative feedback at the time. I took a completely different approach this time.

    I was so so close to Poo Bah!!!!!

    FTR- I have zero problems with all these different changes in the last like 14 months. But man they have negatively affected ME!

    I was up to like 220 on the Top 250, change gets made and I fall to like 190!

    200 or so short of Poo Bah, change made now no such thing!

    All in fun but can everyone think of how things affect ME before doing things from now on?

    all this is tongue in cheek

    Sure do like these new levels. Makes me feel like I'm playing BA D&D or something.
    "Well, I'm Level 10 in Beer & Brewing Arcana and Level 15 in Pomposity, which combined give me +8 when making a Know-It-All Post."

    I'm curious to see what the new titles will be.

    1500 points: Get an annual test from now on.
    2000 points: WTF am I doing with my life?
    3000 points: Another effort and you’re in for liver failure.

    *One could get a lot more creative.

    I also remember back when the titles didn't stop at "Poo-bah" there was like "Grand Poo-bah" and "Grand High Poo-bah" and others I think... not that I was ever one of them, but a guy can dream.
