Coming out for the weekend for Eagles Cardinals game on Friday Oct 7th. Staying at The DoubleTree Paradise Valley in Scottsdale until the 11th. Will not have a vehicle so would have to rely on Uber/Lyft. I have been to Wren House, AZ Wildernes in Glibert, State 48 and Pedal Haus Tempe before. Any suggestions?
O.H.S.O. Paradise Valley will be a chill place to hang out in the evening on their back porch. Been there several times while living in PHX and was there in March while visiting. Fate Brewing is pretty solid. The Tempe outpost is several miles south on Scottsdale Road near the ASU campus. The North Scottsdale locale used to make a killer small pie. Both places offer a decent tap list. Enjoyed my visits over to Beer Research Institute in Mesa. Good food and decent tap list. Used to be a Cardinals season ticket holder and remember the Sun Devil Stadium days when the Cards were in the NFC East; always impressive when Philly came to town - they used to occupy most of an upper deck section near one of the end zones LOL! I am hoping to get over to Charlotte to see the Cards-Panthers game on October 4 if it is not too flipping hot! Cheers! Tom
Arizonian here. If you looking for different places to try Tombstone for sure! The Shop in Tempe, OHSO as mentioned, and the Wandering Tortoise is a good beer bar with nice selections.
Roses by the stairs brewing, great name! Worth a visit? Going to a coyotes game, any got a Tempe brewery or bar they recommend strongly?
Roses by the Stairs have been putting out great stuff. Definitely worth a stop. Near Mullet, the Shop is solid and so is Fate. I'd definitely recommend Tombstone ahead of both, but that might be a bit further than you're looking for (I think it's about 15 minutes away).
Twelve West in Mesa or Gilbert. Desert Monk in Gilbert Four Peaks in Tempe Peddle Haus in Tempe or Chandler
Any recommendations for Tucson? Borderlands and Pueblo Vida were great when I last visited, but it was around four years ago. I will be there in a couple weeks for respite from this blustery PNW winter.
was in town last weekend and stopped in at wren house. was on a time crunch so i only got to try their czech style lager (strizlik) and WC IPA (wrenovation.) wrenovation was decent, but strizlik was excellent and easily my favorite of the two. cool place and cool people
