BeerAdvocate Karma Title Celebration Thread

I’m a Pooh bah and have zero beer reviews. Feels wrong.

 

In the Karma titles a couple versions back there was one called "Advocate." I was really proud of that title. I bought a T-shirt. Then they changed how it was calculated and I was a Poo-Bah. It was sort of a let-down, but I've been wearing the title proudly for a few years. I'm pleased to continue to be a Poo-Bah!

 

Thanks for the Pooh-Bah, now I have no title goal left, just doing whatever

Guess points will be happening anyway, going deep into beer is the goal and the fun.

 

I'm down aboot 1600 points vs the old system. Shrugs.

 

Todd, maybe I've missed this, but i was looking for karma points for trying more than 100 beer styles (120 total by my count) but only see 50 points for trying 100 styles. Any points for trying/experiencing all 120?

P.s. Some of us humans are funny for being motivated by points

 

One vote for Supreme Ultimate Grand Poo Bah as an added level...

 

But thinking of longevity, what comes after that?

Are points taken away or added per the number of members you ignore?

Been moving up the ranks pretty quickly and am always active on this site. I hope I get to Pooh-bah before long. Cheers!!

 

Yeah well since the re calibration I did full reviews on 5 beers, and before my karma would go up by one or two for each beer, now didn't budge.oh well I will just refrain from beer reviews for the time being.call it a standoff. My karma and others karma value to me is showing participation level. So maybe now beer reviews aren't important. Oh well.

 

You should go back read the updated karma system that @Todd published. Instead of incremental changes for every interaction there's standard points for specific milestones.

If karma is important to you then not reviewing beers is a poor strategy

 

I liked the old karma points system but I really like the new system @Todd has brought forth...and he ain't done yet! The latest version has gotten me motivated to seek out and or re-visit PLACES and not just beer. Some of my old haunts. Well, places with beer. I truly enjoy reviewing brewskies and my partner loves the fact that I'm all about trying some "new" places and getting the hell away from my beer fridge. It's a nice focal point. The new system works very well IMHO.
