Not saying I like it, but you need to make a reservation for cans-to-go and drinks on site for some (maybe all?) of their locations, no? I think you need to do that at Tewksbury.

Not sure about Tewksbury or Deerfield but Charlton is a walk up and purchase type of place. It's a great space to hang out at too. I've waited in lines an hour or more and I've walked right in, I guess it depends on timing.
During Covid you had to pre order but no time frame except you had to pick up that day, no pours then, of course.

My Concorde does not get me the beer, I enjoy it when I drink the Beer. My Concorde is from Ortofon, and it's musical sounds go great with my favorite beers. Records and Duvel make a nice evening. Or whatever fine brew I decide I like.

I like Breweries which have quality atmosphere. Good food, wheelchair access. Reasonable parking for wheelchair users/mobility issues. Good drink options which are non-alcohol (since I buy the beer to enjoy at home). Friendly, helpful staff and servers an asset.

I feel like most things at breweries don’t bother me besides minor annoyances, nothing posting worthy. It is hard work running a brewery! Kudos to those who chase that dream, I enjoy your craft.
My one pet peeve that is anything beyond annoyance is when breweries that hide their best and most creative work behind limited paid memberships, leaving you to only access a tap list full of soulless ipas. Just turns me off tbh. So many other good options to support, beer is a drink meant for the working people, not the wealthy elite (steps off soapbox)

Not having a hoppy beer that isn't hazy/juicy available. Using the same 3 or 4 hops in different combinations for every hoppy beer.

I was making an old Franco/American joke about supersonic flight. Boom Supersonic is based here in Greensboro and I couldn't resist mentioning the old retired Concorde. My apologies. But I really do like the very same qualities in a brewery that you mention. In fact, we have plans coming up to meet some old friends at Little Brother Brewery which is what you and I like and more. Cheers.....

In my situation, they would only pour said beers from tap for growler fills, otherwise served from a can.

I know for a fact that they were just trying to get rid of older (over produced) product.

Tewksbury you need to reserve your time to pick up cans. Can't just walk up and order cans to-go. I believe you need reserve a time slot to drink as well (I can ask my brother, he's been for pours).

He said he wanted to get beer to go, but the next slot available for cans was an hour away.

I imagine it's like this at Tewksbury and Sandwich because they understandably generate exponentially more traffic than Charlton or Deerfield.

Again, I don't like it either...maybe someday people will realize there's more quality breweries out there than Tree House.

I dunno, while not for the wealthy elite, craft beer isn't cheap either. I can't imagine your typical working man is regularly purchasing $20+ 4 packs and $10 draft pours...

Seen this work well but also not-so-well. Like where the handwriting cannot be deciphered. Or they use 10 different colors of chalk and their own artistic flair to create an entry it takes me 15 minutes to figure out it's a style I don't want.

There was a place in Charm City that had a banner like the stock exchange across the top of the bar. Prices varied on this beer exchange ticker (prices go up or down based on real time sales updated every 30 seconds). Unique and easy to read but not too practical.

You are right, those prices are absurd! Draft pour for something super premier that is worth it ok. But is there a four pack out there worth $20? Absolutely not

I have no problem with the brewer serving from cans but to not disclose that they are older and not giving a discount is a shady business practice IMO.

I don’t buy $20 pack, not even $18. I will buy a pint or two and pay $6-7 a pour. Saying no 4 pack is worth $20 is really not true if you are paying for pours. When I get a pour or two I will then grab a 4 pack to go, most times $14-16. Much less than on site beers and just as tasty. I get the price seems crazy but when you break it down it’s not so bad.

    Enjoy

Yes but I enioy the on tap experience more. I also have to love a beer to get an expensive four pack of it, which does happen rarely

I was at Monkish, a hype brewery in Torrence, in January. They were selling a beer within code but clearly they were trying to get rid of.

They served 12 oz out of a 16 oz can as listed on the beer list board, kept the can and remaining 4 oz.

To drink themselves? To serve to others? In any event I found it bizarre, closed out my tab. Not sure if return after this my second visit. The beer was mediocre (too sweet), a 4.5% “Belgian Blonde Ale” Song of Silence. Didn’t seem to be a discount at $6 (higher ABVs sold at $7 +).

I don't think there's a brewery in the Greater Boston area that sells draft pours for $6-7. Real expensive here.

Actually I thought of a pet peeve, and it is a big one. When breweries don't have websites and only use social media pages.

I look at web sites still. If I can’t find your site or the info is not there I just don’t go. I guess I get it but I’m a web site person not a social media person.

    Enjoy

Great Notion is another terrible example here...not sure what the current status is, but they used to require their own specific app WITH AN ACCOUNT LOGIN in order to see what was on tap or for sale. They had a website, but didn't have this information on it.

    Utter garbage.

As the owner of a local brewery told me, if I want local retailers to carry my beer I can’t undersell them.
