Munster's Weather Tracker opening odds there will be a storm (well, weather related storm) on May 20 @ 66.6%. I'm taking the storm here. Just undecided between a graupel or hell fire storm. Shoot, first in-person DLD fest since 2019? Going with both.

Shame they won't have the new Hyatt Place hotel in Munster open by DLD.

And The Creeper is still one of my favorite FFF labels (and beer) of all time.

That would work! I was hoping for Cattle Decapitation, but they already have a show in GA that day, and are in Chicago 10 days later for a show. Currently trying to do the math on how to break it to my wife that I'll be going to Dark Lord Day for Cannibal and Pelican, and 10 days later going to see Catlle Decapitation and Blackbraid. The fact that I haven't really gone to concerts for like 4 years should help my position.

Enjoy that Cattle Decap show! I saw them open on the Amon Amarth tour last year and they were excellent!

my guesses for the DLD sub-headliner are Pig Destroyer or Morbid Angel, both playing Milwaukee Metal Fest the following weekend and both without shows surrounding dark lord day.

C'mon 3F... Provide some juicier details on why the Deluxe warrants that +$133. I'm intrigued, but not $133 intrigued for bathrooms away from the cretins.

Can someone enlightened me if The Floyds sent out a link to pre-sale for this? I remember that it came with a purchase last year, but searching my GMail has proven to be a unlucky endeavor.

Unless you're from the future, than no, you will have to remain patient like the rest of us present dayers...

A presale will open on March 17 at 12pm CDT for customers who purchased 2022 Dark Lord packages. The presale code will be emailed to eligible customers prior to the presale.

Thank you kindly for the assist. Unfortunately this year, the wife and I are a victim of wedding season, but honestly, it'll just be fun to amble around the space, maybe share a pour or two and savor some Pedialyte before round two later in the burbs.

    Marriage 50% divorce rate

    DLD 100% fun rate

I’m not an odds guy, but I know which one I’d choose.

Yeah, fuck weddings. They suck. My buddy has a wedding the next day, but is driving in and out from Ohio and opting the zombie route for the Sunday wedding.

Pig Destroyer and Morbid Angel are playing Milwaukee Metal Fest? That lineup is getting sicker by the minute.

I was wondering whether anyone would play both fests, since four bands seems a little light for DLD.

Didn’t DLD have two stages at one point?

In 2015, they did at least (link). Big Freedia was at the 2nd stage.

Yeah, it was like the Lolla version of a DJ tent.

This also reminds me that I’m mad that I had to leave before CoC performed that day.

Honestly, the brewery that has me most exited is Cloudburst. Last time I was in Seattle, I loved their beer especially the IPAs. High End Portfolio, Verse Chorus Verse and Standard Operating Procedure were all outstanding. I haven't been there since the God-forsaken pandemic, so I think it will be a great combo of quality and nostalgia mixed in.

So sad that a lot of the heavy hitters of days past aren’t there…then again those oldies either sold out or turned into dicks.

Seems pretty solid. Hard to complain about that list. Will be interesting to see if any of the (potentially) more limited offerings from some of these end up in the hail satan tent.

Totally agree. I love seeing focus on bringing more local stuff. I get that many of us in the area have access to them, but I think the fact that people from all around the country come for this event will now get a chance to taste a variety of Chicagoland beer is a good thing. And for those looking for more 'limited' offerings, it is hard to complain with Hill Farmstead, Side Project, Freemont and a few others being there also. I like the list.

Interesting. That list has grown a lot since yesterday when they posted it. Hill Farmstead and a handful of other places weren’t listed. I suspect the list still isn’t complete and will grow as breweries continue to “rsvp”
