    Next up on deck:

Goodbye Mr. Sun | Double Barrel Barleywine | 15%

Aged in a Journeyman Rye barrel before being finished in a freshly dumped tequila barrel.

"Classic barleywine notes accentuated by rye spice on the front end- we get caramel, nougat, raisin, brown sugar. Those flavors are punctuated by the tequila back end, highly spirited with earthy citrus notes. It culminates in a lovely marshmallow finish. The body of this beer lends itself to a great sustain that carries these flavors long past the sip. We couldn't be more excited to share this with you!"

Never heard of anyone else doing a barleywine in tequila barrels. This sounds like it will be very interesting. Really digging their willingness to experiment with different spirit barrels

They did a Mezcal Prison of Elders I think and I passed on it because I'm just not a big Mezcal/Tequila drinker. Did anyone drink that and have impressions they'd like to share?

I was super skeptical of the mezcal prison of elders but was shocked at how smooth and well done it was. It was wayyy more balanced and enjoyable than I was anticipating.

I never had Mezcal Prison of Elders, but I had Double Barrel Prison of Cognac (unless that’s the same beer?) and loved that. I also had Mezcal BA Sweet Eddy and enjoyed that as well.

No mezcal expert, but I enjoy the smoke aspect and thought WW did a great job of presenting it in both these beers. The spirit played well with other barrels and additions in both beers. I had each over some time, warmed. Opened up to this wonderful, indulgent, smoky, spicy chocolate.

It’s not a preferred spirit in the beer barreling world so I wasn’t surprised when both of these lasted longer than a usual release, but I was more than happy to snap both up.

Description on this latest one sounds great and their work with mezcal can convince me to try a tequila barrel beer if it makes it to public/proxy release.

I don't like Tequila or Mezcal but bought a bottle for science & really did not like it at all

Was about to buy it after seeing it was a DB BBW then saw Tequila. Hard pass.

Agreed. I hate tequila so I selfishly hope they quickly get past this recent obsession with tequila & mezcal barrel-aged beers

Super excited for this one... I'm a sucker for vanilla rye in general and feel WW is going to knock this one out of the park. I've loved the subtlety of Heights and feel vanilla rye plays right into the strengths of that series in general.

    Cheers!!

Very pumped for this one as well. Like yourself, I'm a sucker for Vanilla Rye so this is right up my alley. Big fan of the Heights base stout and was a really big fan of the double barrel rye they did so I can't see this one being anything short of stellar. Would love to see them do a Apple Brandy Heights of some sort next or even a Cognac aged.

The Heights series, for me, has been far & away the best stouts that they've done
