The 14.1% ABV is either mauve wax (Blanton’s barrel aged 3 years) or red wax (Willett bourbon aged 2 years).

Coconut Jenkins was awesome IMO. Peanut Butter Jenkins was also amazing. They have some magnums left that I don’t need, but I really want. Probably the most flavorful and complementary peanut / bourbon combination.

oh now it is. at first it was just a blank square!

    Currently drinking this :
Voodoo/ The Bruery - Bourbon Barrel Aged Warlock Flip-Flops .
Aged for 30 months is Woodford Reserve Wheat Whisky Barrels.
Plenty of heat, nice brownie, brown sugar , caramel, vanilla , dark fruit, molasses and chocolate in this one to make it a nice slow sipper! this 12oz bottle will probably last me till tomorrow. A whole lot going on here .
It reminds me A LOT of the local Arrow Lodge - Voyager ( BBA Imperial Stout aged 13 months in Weller 12 barrels) I had last week ,although this gas a little more layers/complexity to it.
    Thanks @micada you're a legend

I think I sent you a black wax that was Basil Hayden. I’m out of that one, too. :slight_frown:

Yellow wax was 14.88% ABV Blanton’s aged 2 years. The coconut, peanut butter, and Willett rye all had different labels to help differentiate.

that middle row is all *drool*:fire::fire:

Completely different from the photo that had Willet and Mikhail; or was that different shelves!?

You're a madman. I wouldn't have the willpower to hold on to that stuff.

Also @micada hang on to a Blantons one for me.

All kinds of new stuff coming in. BA Surly Darkness, shit tons of Finback BA stouts (but those are likely non starters for you), some new Lough Gill BA stouts, those fracking Lees BW with 1986 yeast keeps calling me to buy them (not too many left)…

There’s one more shelf below with Fremonts and the Fyodors…and an oud bruin hanging out for fun.

There are still lots of 3-year Blanton’s to buy, which I plan to do. They’re dirty beasts…dirrrrrrty…heavy, chewy, woody. Interestingly still on the slightly sweet side, so they might benefit from sitting around a bit longer even. I really need to get those peanut butter magnums. I know you’re anti adjunk, but it’s such a clean, dry peanut flavor, I think even you would be good with it. I missed out meeting @Blogjackets for an IP at the Voodoo compound, who was doing a cellar sale. I haven’t seen anyone post any scores from that, but they emailed me that but it was all supposedly really old stock.

Thin Man also has magnums of Life is but a Dream cuvée strong ale. That’s another beast. Soft Black Stars too. They f’ing nailed that whole run of BA drinks during the pandemic. Now all I can think about is buying the PB Jenkins. Dammit!

    @micada

Yeah, looks fantastic. Living in NNJ just outside of NYC it's not easy to get any of their BA stouts. I bought the coconut one in a store in Baltimore, if you can believe it, and the other I bought at a store in Westchester, but they rarely make it that far south.

It's the price thats off putting. The bombers are never less than 20 dollars and the barrel aged ones are usually 25 ( ones i had were aged 6 months or so)
The new 16oz format is a little better but still 12+ tax for a reggie and 17 for BA versions

At least 3 retailers so far have the BA here $18. I don’t recall ever seeing it on any shelf here before. Last/only one I had was from a trade.

What's up everyone? It has been a while since posting here. Demons Run from Urban Roots. Imperial stout brewed with honey and aged in Weller barrels for 15 months. Fantastic. Tons of roasted malts, barrel, chocolate, burnt toffee, and molasses.

This is where we fight. Darkness and BA Darkness are in my top 5 non additive stouts. I can't believe you wouldn't buy them more than once.

I've been bitching about beers with added junk, be they fruited IPA's, porters or so stouts, so WTF happens? My favorite beer from the Extreme Beer Box turns out to be an "added junk" laden stout from DFH, their Wake Up WWS. IMHO, the brewers must have a clue, this was not a sickly sweet beer like the 1st few I choked down, or poured down the drain. Thankfully the brewers at DFH no what to add in the correct amount.
