Chances are good there are no new beers… no sense in updating if the everything is the same

I’m sure that’s true in some instances.

There aren't many servers who would want that. A server at a good places walks out with $400-$1000 on a good night (of hard work). Most in cash.

Oh, I just rediscovered another peeve yesterday: Breweries and beer pubs that have no posted descriptions to differentiate among multiple IPAs. Yesterday the place had 5 IPAs, but other than ABV, and in a couple cases, references to a double or triple, there was no description. Come on.... at least list the major hops. And this place was super busy for brunch, so no way were they going to be pouring tastes.

    What if it included benefits?

I’d definitely go to a restaurant that had servers with benefits.

Was the description on the menu?

There was no menu other than a video screen listing what they had and all it showed was beer name, ABV, and beer category.

Boulevard Brewery actually offers pretty good benefits. The servers don't accept tips, and when people try to tip them, the servers explain that they get great benefits and are fairly paid.

It sounds gimmicky coming from some rando message on the internet, but they generally sound pleased and proud about their benefits situation. Cool to see.

Can't abide "shitty" metal or any "shitty" corner of any genre especially coming from payola commercial radio. I was just at a brewpub playing "Seattle's soundtrack from the 90's" that was a one and done...wanted to scoot before the bro down from the quad showed up to work on their alibis. Guess it beats the EDM of today or Dis Track Hop but damn, lived through that era once, I'm good thanks.

I have never scanned a QR code. The few times that I tried I either took 20 pictures of it or nothing happened. I have walked out of places that refuse to let me order from a person. I consider using a smartphone a pain in the ass annoyance, not a convenience. Guess that I'm dating myself too.

I'm not super young (40 years old), so I can understand to some degree. I still don't get all the Tik Tok's and Snapchats.

But smart phones are incredibly convenient, and eventually we likely won't have a choice between knowing how to use a smart phone and not.

For example, double clicking the button on the side of my phone and scanning it for credit card purchases has been a revelation for me. I can go out with my license on the back of my phone and have nothing else on me. It's awesome.

I also kinda like scanning a code and paying for my bill. I don't have to wait for a busy server to bring my bill, then come back to get my card or cash, then come back with the receipt to sign or the change.

I pay on my phone and walk out.

And you won't need to...AI will have those rendered obsolete in the next 2 years. People will be in an echo chamber of a learning AI that knows exactly what you like and dislike and will tell you only what you want to here. It will create videos you want to see, stories you want to read, and virtual friends you want to text or talk with.

Lol! Spotify is beta testing one this week as a dj. I think that the "hipper than thou" voice is winding up making me feel old and inadequate.:grin:

The last time I tried using a qr code menu my phone wouldn't cooperate and I had to ask for a real one. Yup, I'm blaming the phone. :sunglasses:

That is just AI playing existing music based on your musical preferences. In two years AI will be CREATING new music just for you based off your preferences.

12 staff members taking a group break for a few hours? Now I know why the beers from the Bruery were so expensive back in the day. It was the poor overhead to production ratio.
I wonder if any servers in the group were making sure that they'd be the pet peeve of one of the other customers. There's probably another post in this thread stating: "I was once at a taproom and I swear there must have been a dozen staff talking casually at a customer table for hours! We had to wait 30 minutes for a server to bring us our check."

    NOT UPDATING YOUR WEBSITE.

Oh, you have this beer on tap? I'm going to drive there and try it. Oh, you ran out yesterday? That would be nice to know.
