Sadly, I will be there tomorrow. And they will be closed. DRATS!

    Another time to be certain.

Reinvention is only a couple miles away (if that) and they’re open tomorrow if you wanna scratch a brewery itch. I’ve only been once but I dug their stuff and it was a cool space.

Aspire Brewery is opening in the Galleria in Wallkill, NY.

"WALLKILL – Aspire, a new 30,000-square-foot brewery with amenities is expected to open in the Town of Wallkill just inside the main entrance to the Galleria at Crystal Run this spring.

Aspire’s COO Alex Kemp said the facility will include an 8,000-SF brewery, a traditional tap room, and a beer hall with 40 self-pour tap beers as well as ciders and wines."

First I'm hearing of this and only happened to catch it randomly on Facebook. They seem to have 0 social media presence and the only information that I can find is the one news story that hit my Facebook feed.

BTW, drove by, BOTH were closed. Got a picture of Rebel Sailor. Reinvention is good BTW. Been there twice. Gonna give it another shot Friday. Hopefully.

Bent Iron Brewing Co. in Hamilton Twp, NJ (just outside of Allentown, south of I-195, not far from NJ Tpk Exit 7A) is looking at a Fall '23 opening.

    According to the FAQ:
Haven't kept up with this controversy, but do "Farm breweries" have different rules re: food trucks than other breweries? Or is it a matter of the truck parking on the brewery grounds?

Wholy cow! The place was PACKED, and yet they were quick to serve. The snow was rapidly piling up outside, making the crowd size all the more impressive, and kept me from getting a pint. No beers to go… yet. They assured me the Red Kviek will still be available when their to-go license is approved in a few weeks.

Stopped in last Saturday. Also very crowded, but managed to grab a table. Had the Red, wife had the session IPA. Red was very good, the session was decent, although more bitterness then my wife likes. Second round, I got the stout and the wife got the blond. They were ok. The red was the highlight. Service was excellent, and the place has a nice vibe. They have a small food menu and many people were eating, but we did not partake. Will go back again.

Obviously not an expert, NJ has always had extremely draconian laws concerning alcohol. My understanding is food trucks haven't been allowed at breweries in NJ since July 1, 2022.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I was asking about the difference a "Farm Brewery" license would make, since that was the term used in FAQ. But, apparently, the legislation to create the Farm Brewery license has not passed yet.
Establishes farm brewery and winery-brewery beverage license.
Damn, you shoulda been here in 1920-1933! This even happened!:open_mouth:

Hell, it wasn't too good in the years leading up to that, either. At one point our own ex-Governor limited beer to under 2.75% abw!

I guess this answers the question of could it possibly be any worse. I used to live on the NY/NJ border and ate out often in NJ. I kind of liked how I could bring my own beer to most restaurants since it saved money, but it also sucked because I had to BYOB.

Brewery experiences in NJ always paled in comparison to the surrounding states and I realize that it had nothing to do with the establishments and everything to do with the lobbyists. I get that you can't really change where you live, but it always made me wonder how anyone would want to open a brewery in NJ when your very state is actively making it so that you can't operate in the most beneficial way.

Ok so this brewery is not new but I finally got to West Kill yesterday and man is that an awesome place, even on a windy, snowy, cold afternoon. Great ambiance and tap list - they had 7 different styles one and only ONE IPA (imagine that!). It’s really out of the way but I recommend it to anyone in the Hunter area.

We also just stopped at Marlowe on the way home. We didn’t have time for a beer, just picked up some cans to go, but it definitely seemed like a great place to hang out.

West Kill now has a spot in Kingston too. It's much more accessible from 87 than the original location.

Good to know! My in-laws have a house at Hunter, so for me it’s not bad when we are in the area. We took the dogs hiking for a few hours and headed over for beer and food. Burgers were good and the old bay fries were killer.

Also, they have a Maine **** that is larger than any domestic cat I’ve ever seen in my life.

    Couple nuggets:

    - Return Brewing in Hudson looks super close to opening. Just put up an IG post from outside saying “SOON.”

    - The Ridge in West Seneca is open now and is (for the time being) operating like a beer bar with a self-pour tap wall but will be brewing their own beer at some point this year. Space looks unique and beautiful.

    - Place called Pod Cities Brewing recently opened up Canalside in Buffalo. Don’t know much about it beyond that.

Sunset Hill in Gilbertsville, PA is waiting on licensing and then ready to go.
Brewery is on a former dairy farm; it looks like a nice taproom with plenty of outdoor space as well.

Bottomless Brewing (northeast side of Seneca Lake) sold and from the sounds of it to somebody re-opening it as a brewery. Presumably with a different name.

Bottomless’ beer was very eh but it’s a super unique spot so I’m glad to see it’s getting some life back into it.

This had been dormant for a while but it looks like Mean Max’s taproom is opening in Troy “in spring” so… by next month? Be good timing on their part to do it before the farmers market moves back outside.
